How Do You Build Referrals for your Programs?

Ok, no referral links here please!
So, we all belong to a program or two. And many of the programs encourage us to have a downline so that we could have a bigger earnings. I am wondering how everyone promote their programs and get referrals for their programs successfully.
Sometimes I find it hard even if we have referrals to a certain program, it seems that they are not really active and we don't really benefit from their joining. Do you motivate your referrals too? Or they are usually someone whom you don't know?
Please share. Thanks in advance!

Everyone wants to build referrals but it looks like many are not keen to join a site referred by someone under their name. They think their revenue is shortened to pay for the person who referred to them. So they take the site address and delete the referral i.d. and join a site. This is a common phenomenon in most of the websites and that is why our calculation go hayware. Secondly the people who refer someone, do not take proper care of the newly introduced person by not guiding him properly.

I agree! But sometimes I do wonder if the people are joining the sites because they are asked to. They seem to go immediately inactive after joining and I find it hard to guide them as I don't really know them in person and I can't really bug them *laughs*.

One has got to be sincere with the internet friends, like real friends.
You should respond to their discussion topics not on permanent basis on onsided traffic, but on reciprocal system and develop the genuine confidence in them. Then make some efforts to explain about the salient features of a new site where you want to introduce your friend. Also sometimes, you may have to become member of a site which your friend proposes. It should be done in the spirit of give and take.
Thanks for giving my response a BR

I usually only get referrals I can have direct contact with. This ensures that if they need help or a thumbs up or something, I am there for them, and that really makes them more inclined to be active and themselves get more referrals.
years ago I used to pay them extra for activity and for getting extra refs, and that worked out pretty well too, but now Id rather instruct and teach.

True, I find the people I know in real would be more active if I refer them to something and indeed, it's so much easier to get in touch with them and motivate them!

YOu are very correct. Many people lend their email ids to their friends and it is these friends who inorder to gain the referral credits/income, make them as members. After that nothing is heard of them at all. In mylot too there are thousands of them. Some may join on their own, but get disillusioned due to low payment. Their concentration is on money making rather than on contributing some useful topics and learning from responses.

Right! I think people are disappointed with how much mylot pays. But well, that's why I think they haven't really explored the site after they have joined!

I don't have any active referrals on myLot, but in my home-business I have plenty. It depends on what you need the referrals for.
For myLot, I am very passive about it - since there's not a lot of money to be made. Mostly I just have my ref link on all my e-mails, and I've encouraged my family and friends to join.
For my home-business, which is the real money-maker, I'm a bit more "agressive". One of the things that really work for me in this instance is I ask people that I know (and sometimes virtual strangers) "Who do you know that wants to make $2,000 - $5,000 a month?" This usually peaks the interest of the person I'm talking to and they will also usually know at least one person who I can get in touch with.

well i dont really succeed at getting referrals for my programs but so far m trying my level best, i normally try to use my blog as an output post so that i can hit as many people as i can, but the success depends on how many people visit my blog which at this given moment is not too very much !

Keep working on it! My blog doesn't have many visitors as well but don't give up, these things take time!
