What does it take to pursue your plan to move to Canada?

Nowadays, A lot of filipinos have been successful in becoming a resident in Canada. Having a nice job in Canada is really like a dream come true. But what does it take to pursue this career plan if you are just starting? As far as I know, CIC offers immigrant processing but it cost a lot. Is there any other way to work in Canada without spending a lot of money? Thanks :-)
