I have never learnt drawing. It is an inborn gift. However I find that my best drawings are that of women. They come out really pretty and it pleases me. Whenever I try to draw a man or a child, the effect is not so much. It is my cherished dream to lean painting, but now I am nearing my 50s, and painting is costly. So my priorities are different. Is there any particular reason why i can draw women well and not the men or children?

It doesn't have an explication just that women features are always easier to draw like before I started studying it I couldn't draw men or kids either, they all turned in women. But after few lessons I did it :D .I was also born with it,like I'm drawing since I was 4 and since I wasn't good at many other things I focused on painting. But if you don't want to waste money on studies you can get some books and learn by yourself,it'll be sad to waste your talent.:)

I think that the reason you're best at drawing woman is because they have many more features that stand out then a guy, as well as the fact that everyday girls try to make themselves look as beautiful as possible, while a guy, or child might not care nearly as much! I dont know, these're just my thoughts :p

If a person is a woman and draws women better, it could be as simple as being more familiar with the female attributes that make a drawing seem "female". If they are male, they probably make good mental notes of what makes women attractive. If you look at males, for example, they have much sharper edges in their faces and muscular structure. Their brows are generally more squared off and their chins are usually more square. Their shoulders are usually more bulky and square as well. Babies are much different in proportion. Their heads are usually much larger in proportion to their bodies. Their faces are much more rounded in the cheek area. Their brows are usually not very defined. Their joints usually have more fatty tissue surrounding them than adults. Learning to draw well is a great foundation to painting. There is no reason to give up the dream of painting. Perhaps you can practice drawing to become a better painter.
