How many of you celebrate your festivals in an alaborate way?Do you enjoy doing it? I dont do it.Festivals come and go its like any other day.Maybe at the most there would be a special lunch. But i do admire those who take all the pains to do it.

We just had our 45th annual Apple Day Festival. It is the biggest thing our town does all year. When I can I love going to it and looking at the stuff the vendors have out and all the food smells heavenly and the rides a blast of fun. I love the tiger ears they have since the towns football team is paintsville tigers they name the donuts after the team instead of calling them elephant ears. They are antique car shows and everyone putting on their sunday best to go out on the town and they even have people in the parade that drive little tiny cars and the whole town get involved in the parade. My nephew was in it this year because he plays football it is something he will always remember I am sure and that is what the Apple Day represents for us the past, the present and the future still to come of people gathering and enjoying themselves to the fullest. It is well worth the few dollars that people scraped up and saved just to be part of it. We even have famous people come out and give free concerts we have had Toby Keith, loretta Lynn,Desert storm,Little Texas juat to name a few and this year we had Crystal Gayle in the free concert. She was great I was told.

Thanks I appreciate that, I love the Apple Day Festival and I probably forgot to mention half the things that go on when we have it, I know I forgot to mention the Miss apple blossom pageant (for teenagers) and the others for 5 and under are little princess and prince pageant. The games that are so fun but easy enough to win something occasionally and the Helicopter that gives everyone rides as it circles the town, and so much more happens. It is something a child, parent, grandparent remembers always. I am already saving money up for next year, I am taking my little sister she hasn't been there yet because my dad always said she was to young well she is going to be 7 next time it comes around and so I am going to give her the works let her experience it all the rides, the games, the parade, the cars, the craft fair, the concert, get sick on tiger ears, cotton candy and candy apples,etc.. I think everyone should experience the joy and fun of a Festival atleast once in their lives and I am going to save to make that possible for her.

I love festivals! Especially ones that have people dressed up in pioneer clothes & all that. I love to shop for arts & crafts & knick knacks. And my hubby & son love elephant ears! We ride in the helicopter whenever we can - it's a blast!

I will choose what festival that relates to me and my life. And I will celebrate it with vivid gathering with my friends and networking sub-ordinate people. Special fund allocation I will spare for it.
