Are you comfortable with your family?

It depends on what definitions of family you are using. The family I came from, my blood relatives, I have very little love for. They neglected and abused me horrifically from my first day of life pretty much. In fact, I was very lucky to escape with my life. The older members of my family, my great-grandparents, I did love very much, and they were very kind to me, but they have passed on now. And I have come to like the person my father is now, which is very different from the person he was when I was growing up. But I do not feel as if the people who raised me deserve to be called "my family" because they treated me in a horrible fashion, and I don't think I owe them anything. My current "family" is made of my husband and son, as well as many of our friends whom I consider family. I love all these people very much. That family, the one I found as an adult, I am very happy with.
