updated shops in runescape.

this is to just summerise what i think to the new update to all the shops in runescape and i would be happy to hear what everyone else thinks of it too. certain shops in runescape are now stocking unlimited supplies, apparently this is to stop autoers mass buying all the runes and arrows out of stock and frustraiting those of us that play properly and want to buy things but can't because of them! all the rune shops now stock unlimited runes of all varieties (not the combined runes like steam and mud) for a set price no matter how many you buy (mind runes 17 gp each, deaths 310 ea, natures 372 ea ect...) this i have worked out will be very good for me, but not so great for all those players who made lots of money from the way that rune prices fluctuated. aroows are now in unlimited supply (up to addy in the varrok arrow store) and they are cheap too, i know many rangers that have happily used bronze for all their training, well now there are unlimited ammounts of bronze arrows for just 7gp each... this may well affect fletching and smithing for some people though as this is the way they made some of their money and there will be no need to make arrows ever again. general stores now have an unlimited stock of the basics like buckets and what not, so when ever you need something like that, you know you can get it. there are a few downsides to this new update though, most notably to smithing and crafting. the ore shops in and around members have been changed so that it is only "player stock" on many ores and bars, meaning they have none! also the 3 shops i knew of that had 10 bronze bars each previously now have had them taken away (shilo village, tia bwo wanni store and shanty pass). apparently the stores that used to have stocks of things like sea weed have had it removed too. some people relied on these small stocks to get little bits of "paid for" exp... now they are gone. also battlestavess are now more of a pain to make because zaff in varrok no longer sells battlestves for you to turn into named staves (like fire battle staff). personally i like this update, even with the few drawbacks that have come with it, what do you guys think?

hmm... i quite like the update because it got rid of bots, they really get on my nerves. now i can buy as much stuff i want from the shop (runes and arrows) instead of searching people in banks who are selling them. and i agree that it quite dented the point of fletching the arrows yourself.. well i think they can make up a little bit if you get 20 or 25 arrowheads when u smith a bar instead of 15... i never had a problem with buying basic stuff. the only drawback i see is that the items are a little bit more pricey than before.. but oh well... we can adjust to this new update. i dont know much about the members world, but i am quite glad that it got rid of the auto buyers. jagex is doing quite a satisfying job to get rid of bots. yet there are still many bots on runescape, over 60% of population playing on f2p is bot. they are mostly concentrated on mining, fishing areas and the most frustrating of all, cutting yew trees anyways... two thumbs up for the latest shop update :)

Glad to see that i am not the only person that likes the update lol. so many people have gone onto the official forums to complain about how bad it is. it would be nice if they put an update to smithing, and possibly fletching to now make it worth us making arrows again. i think that jagex do a fantastic job, but you can't satisfy every one all the time. they do their best to take on peoples suggestions and make them work, but obviously there are people that just like the game the way it is, without changes. bots ruin legitimate players game play, they always have and always will, this was just a step jagex took in an attempt to get rid of more of them, in the way they tried with essence/pure essence. you are right, they now need to look at ways of getting rid of auto wc/mining and fishing bots... these ruin the game for so many people and random events clearly don't work! oh yes, buy "x" and sell 50 is great hehe, it certainly makes selling maple longbow (unstrung) so much faster.

oo i really like this update because its another step closer to eliminating bots. Although I know some people will be made because some of their main income was with the different prices of different things in the shops. P.S I never new bronze arrows were at unlimited supply and at 7gp ea! Thanks for the info so ganna check this out:D VERY GOOD UPDATE

I don't have as many nonmembers asking me to make arrows now but thats ok. Otherwise it hasn't made any real difference to my game. I rarely use the shops except to sell off my low level junk thats not worth alkieing.

I too only tend to use the shops to sell things that aren't worth alching or keeping, I can make most things that I want or need, so this update really isn't affecting me. I have more than enough in game money, so I certainly am not worried about inflated prices either...

Well, sure it got rid of all of the botters, but this has put a serious dent in my 'first-minute-after-update-stocking' programs! But I like this update. They need changes to Runescape :)

Aww... its like an 50/50 thing for me. I used to use bronze arrows as a way of money. Buy with a macro and then sell for 20 gp ea. But now the bronze arrow prices have dropped to like 7-13 gp ea on the forums becuz of this. I made a ton of money before it happend. Like 100k a day for doing nothing except scanning the forums once in a while... But then again alot of stuff are more "avalible". So i dunno.

you are one of the people that were meant to be affected by this update, "I used to use bronze arrows as a way of money. Buy with a macro and then sell for 20 gp ea." it was put into place to stop people using macros to buy out all the stock... oh well guess you need to find a new, non bot way to make your 100k per day :D

yeah this update looks good. It also makes the shop interface look better than the old crap they had. Oh and Jagex finally took out the grim reaper's portal. They are sometimes so stupid. Did you know we can't do any of the special chat effects anymore? No more flash3 or scroll, etc. anymore! It sucks! But runescape doesn't lol. At least this new shop update got rid of bots!

i really prefer it. i was tired of waiting for hours for the shop to restock enough runes for me... then some bot comes and buys them quicker. maybe now i can finally finish training mage, if i can get enough money to buy them lol =]
