did you're parents decide this for you?! or you just went on with your passions!? or is this because of an inspiration?! or you simply wanted to be practicall and chose the one that makes the most amount of money from.
I am studying i.t right now and still im getting lost with soem codes that i cant seem to memorize sometimes, but then again i know more about people rather than computers (but the gap between them isn't taht far) I wanted to take up psychology because i want to work with people on fixing their problems, more like i want to get in touch with peoples lives

I decided what I was going to do - I was the first person in my family to finish high school and then go to university, so my mum was just happy with that.
I ended up with a degree in professional writing and editing, and am currently studying for my masters in writing.
I think it is important to study something you are interested in, or it becomes a chore. Also, if you end up working in a field you don't like, the job becomes just something you have to do to pay the bills, and not something you enjoy. When you spend so much of your life working, that's not usually a good thing.

i too have that kind of perception on how to choose youre course but soemtimes it is much more practical to just pay the bills. Life sometimes is not all about you. I found that out the hard way

I agree life isn't always about the individual - usually it intersects and depends upon those closest to us, family and friends - however working consistently in a job or field you hate, or strongly dislike, is bad for both your physical and mental health.
Eventually just paying the bills isn't enough for most people, and they will burn out or break down if they can't find any enjoyment in their work.
It can be a difficult balancing act, but it is important to think about yourself, and not sacrifice your own needs all the time.

Hello there. I studied Accountancy when i was in University. I decided it for myself. My decision was made based on where my High School results can bring me, my interests and the prospects of the course. I never regret choosing the course even though I am not pursuing it as my career now. The course has made me good friends and taught me many things. =D

I remember when i was Form 3 ,my uncle who is an Accountant advised me to look for computer science ,then i was doing a lot of research and all necessary course menu .After SPM,my uncle asked me what were you going to study? Then i answered "Computer Science"guess what??He told me that too many studied this course which means the market was saturated.Okie, fair enuf, then i asked him:'what was you advise",he advised to look for professional course. Then i was so struggle to research again, comon i took 2 years to do research, now you ask me to take 2 months??Crazy! Finally,i choose d Telecommunication Engineering,i was a top scholar but ...you know we need to do a lot of lab test,i was stuck, people toke 1 hour but i took 2 hours. It proves that i might good in theory but weak in practical.I already realized i was not suitable in this line.In fact i like business which i realized only after industrial training at ExxonMobil...WOOO..It took me so many years to know my interest.Well, currently i am a Internet Entrepreneur,at least achieve my dream.

It's what i thought! Most of your discussion affectionate me. Coz like you, i also like to fix abstract problem than to go in fields and analyzing count matters. And what most is, i really want to make others have the difference, to let them see and understand things that cope in their everyday living realizing their past to realize moving on present and so on.When's you're bday? Huh!
My course was a technician, coz it's what my father chose for me. I really want psychology or computer programmer or anything that link with working on abstract. But taking it means having high cost so there is no choice but to obey.
Until i graduate in technology after 3years, then to have a degree, i took education and they credited my previous course that it takes me 1 and a half year. Actually there is a bachelor in engineering (3 years more), and the bachelor of technology (1 year). but i rather chose now what's my passion.
and now, what's my work? i'm now working as an staff officer making production monitoring, updates and forecast. weird, isn't it! i want to teach coz it's also my heart profession but before that, i want to learn something outside, something that can't be learn in school or in house, but through own experience. so that when i came back to be a teacher again, it's not just academic that i would make them to learn.. I choose my own course and I choose IT too for my diploma. I've always being fascinated about computers since young. I think it suits me because I'm not really good at personal relation. However, I wanted a change so I choose business computing for my degree. I notice that business is much more interesting than computers and I'm glad to gain exposure on that.

I choose accounting because I like dealing with numbers and I know that there willl always be jobs in that field and if I don't like it I could always switch and do something else later on.

I was allowed to choose the course that I wanted to pursue. my mother is very supportive of my choice. I'm taking up accountancy right now, it's proving to be a bit hard but I'll manage.

I decided for myself and took up engineering. It was not my first choice actually. When i was filling up forms for entrance examinations my mind was not yet made up so i just placed engineering - with the thought of shifting if i didn't like. Math was not my favorite subject but heck i survived it my first sem. I decided not to shift courses anymore because i dont want to put to waste all my efforts in engineering.
