I have read from an article online that originally, humans have heads, four hands, and four legs. However, they have offended the gods and as their punishment, they were cut into halves. (That's precisely the mythical explanation why human have only one head, two hands, and two legs) As part of their punishment, they're going to spend their lives searching for their other half.

hmmm... nice & interesting story! I'd like to know about the book from which you have read this.
Well, now you have asked whether i believe this. Maybe this is true, maybe not. But let me ask you a question: do you believe in the existence of God? your answer may probably be "yes". now, if i'd ask "why". what would you say? no matter whatever you say, but i know the reason. you believe in God because you are alive & you are convinced that there must be some force which put life in your body. You called that force God & started believing him like anything. Here you may have noticed the point I want to highlight. its that you trust in the existence of God, since you have mentally "proved" his existence. hence belief is nothing but, its that you havegot some proof/reason to agree that certain things/forces exist.
hence, u "indirectly" want to ask me that whether i have got any proof, or, reason to accept the statement you have ade at the begining.
then my answer is "Yes". its because I am a Hindu by religion & according to my religion many Gods have multiple heads & limbs. Also, i have heard from a "dependable" source that God gave us their look. hence both these statements imply that we should have multiple heads & limbs, which is not practical. hence if these statements are true, then it is right that we have a second-half part, which is of our spouce/love. I hope its all clear now.

ooh nice story if it is like that is human not only searching for his missing 2 hands,2 legs,one head but also a heart nad a mind.if what you are saying is correct then you are accepting that one who found other is not having a heart nad brain.is it?any how nice post.
