"New age," is a synonym for "Modern". Nothing stays the same (except change) and as time goes by everything becomes updated.
For instance, The automobile was invented in the late 18 hundreds as a horseless carriage. The "new age" ( 21 century) automobile no longer looks like a horseless carriage.
Also "New Age" sometimes refers to Religion. In ancient times the church was the Law of the land. "New Age" people demanded the separation of Church and State, and the Church has Lost much of its Power.

I've heard a lot of people use the words "new age" to refer to many pagan religions, which always makes me laugh since most of them are very old. (Except for Wicca, which is new but based off older stuff.)
Otherwise, usually I hear the terms "New Age" in terms of business, management styles and stuff. In those cases, it usually means more "share your emotions" and "open door policies" and stuff. *shrugs*

New age means simply new era or generation. In terms of religion it is a term invented by,if i'm not mistaken,Pope John PaulII.it is meant to accept all religion under one umbrella,as long as they believe in one God.That is the new age religion, even in bussiness meetings or conferences i have seen the logo of the bussiness together with new age letter.
