in terms of the cpu, look for the new "quad core" cpu. I believe that you have a quad core cpu pictured above. Quad core cpus are supposed to be the fastest processor that I know of. I would recommend anything from P4 at minimum of 2.4 ghz to 3.0 ghz processor speed. with the maximum memory installed if possible.

If you want to buy a new cpu then check for the following features: 1- minimum 40gb hardisk 2- minimum 256mb ram 3- Dual core processor, etc There are many other features which you can find in the shop itself.

You are so far out of date. They don't make computers with those specs. You can't find a computer with less than a 60GB hard drive (120MB for a desktop) and 512MB of RAM. It's been over 3 years since they made a computer with specs lower than that. You need to get caught up on your computer info before giving advice.

As many others have said, the most powerful processor would be the Intel quad core. Assuming you have an average budget rather than that of a millionaire, I'd suggest getting a comp with an Intel Core 2 Duo. If you want to save money you can do the AM Athlon X2 dual core. They are a step down from the Core 2 Duo, but still very powerful and superior to the Intel Pentium Dual Core.

Quad cores are ruling processor world but they are costly and not worth using at home. You better go for Intel Core2Duo (at least 2GHz) OR AMD Dual Core X2 (Atleast 4400+ @ 2.2GHz). These are best for home computing. Get at least 160 GB hard drive, 1GB RAM as things are not costly as they were.

I would recommend one with either an AMD dual core processor or a Pentium dual core processor. They are both very fast and dependable. As far as brand, my laptop is an Acer and my desktop is an IBM. Both are very dependable and I have had good luck with both of them.
