Do people approve of anf trust a clinical psychologist who is not a native person and even he comes from a completely different culture? I am about to go to Australia to have my further study there. My current major is Accounting & Finance. But I have no interest on this and, I want to major psychology when I am a postgraduate and lead a career as a clinical psychologist in the future. My father opposed me with his reason as people will not trust and allow a person whose cultural background is entirely different from them very great in degree. How's your opinions, my friends? I just think that every race of human being share the same emotions, psychological phenomena and psychological defense mechanism, with subtly different understandings influenced by diversed cultures. I suppose most people here are occidentals. So I think that your opinion could be vitally representative and convincing as I am Chinese, as an oriental.

Personally, I wouldn't entirely trust a psychologist from any culture as I think it is a bit of a psudoscience. all the best urban

I suppose you still fail to understand what I mean. I mean the psychologist I mentioned here has his bachelor and master degree in Australia, from the western countries. Only the psychologist himself is occidental...
