ways to get relief from stress

hi im a software developer from india after working(thinking) for 5 to 6 hours i will feel some head ache i like to listen music and my mind will become free what are your ideas??????

whenver i feel stress, i comehere in mylot and start giving answers, coz earlier music hlps me most but nw a days i not like music everytime or i move away and go for some shopping tht really hlps in deviating my mind to something else and that really helps me alot. Iam soon planning to start stress management blog where causes of stress and how to relieve from it can be found. How its effects the thinking process of the individual. but lol let my stress be over.

hi i am a software developer as well and i do get pain on my sholder some times when i am stressed out .l i stand on my toes and try to reach for the bulb one hand at a time . I also read to take my mind away from work and finaly i play golf..badly ha ha . but i hit that ball as hard as i can and i substitute the ball to all my computer problems lol . i hope that helps. try joging too

I too go through such headaches after sitting and doing coding continuously for more than 3-4 hours. I am not a software developer but i am a software developer wanna-be. I am an engineering student right now in the pre final year. But i found that the best way to be away from this stress is by lying down on the bed in a dark room with melodious music for about an hour. In this process i will actually sleep off and thats the beauty. I feel very fresh after that.

For me to be able to release stress. I should do the following: - take control on my finances - enjoy more harmonious relationships - improve my self-esteem - achieve my career aims - realise my life dreams - completely de-stress all areas of my life

i'm a software developer as well and the best method that works for me is shut down the pc and never look at the monitor for atleast 5 mins,,go for a coffee break, or have a glass of water, sit relaxed and boot our pc..yep you'll feel the energy minus the headache..

Listening to music is definitely a good way to de-stress. If there's a gym near your office, you can try to go running on the treadmill too. I think running is a good way to de-stress too. Hope this helps. As for your headache, do try drinking green tea. It's full of antioxidants and help to calm you down.

I personally find taking a coffee or tea break usually can helps in reducing the stress level, especially at work. Maybe could try to invite your colleague for a short break, chatting and laughing is also another way to distract you from feeling stress.

Try playing some funny games like from www.gamehouse.com, or sharing some knowledge in forum, or creating a blog. Sometimes it can make you fun.
