It has been abnormal to find out the collected wastes in the street in cities in India without taking to the dumping yard the labourers of the corporation spread the wastes in a street in the open place once again to sort out wastes namely waste paper, leather, cardboard extra .this gives bad smell to the puplic. They feel very uncomfortable over this.
After sorting out some items go the waste paper seller for sale.In fact, the labours make money by sales of items which can be recycled.
After this job the labours upload the balance into lorries in order to take them to the dump yard
Well, if the sorting out takes place in the dump yard it is not objectionable .The collected wastes is dealt in this manner.I consider this has been a bad practice by the corporation/ municipal labourers.

Itis estimated that if proper waste management is adopted in a scientific way, it can generate elecricity to the extent of 1/100th of the city for 8 hours. That is something great. We not only do not attempt at these and create a problem for ourselves with too much wastages causing environmental hazard to life of humans and animals. The collected wastes are not properly destroyed and some it come back as waste in form or the other, most of the vans spilling the wastes on the road before reaching the destination.

Yes even I find that our cities have become a big dumpyard. eople are concerned only that their doorsteps shopuld be clean and if they have the facility of Garbage dumps in the vicinity-its always overflowing with trash and add to it the menance of stray dogs you have a big garbage dump stretching to the entire colony. Good practice always starts from home. If you and me can sort our garbage out at hoem then throw it properly in the dump whole lot of problems can be sorted.

I also wonder how this problem in india be solved.
I also wonder will it be ever solved or not.
I think growing population is adding to tghis problem more and more.
Recycling plants should be there and wastes should be dumped properly in designated places only.

We everybody in every home should reuse instead of throwing to dustbin upto maximum reuse will cut down the production of polyvinyl plastics. So no deny on labourers and problems of dustbin. Only not usable perishable waste tobe thro to dustbin is the only sulution.

Herein tamilnadu not only recycling also we are using the products of recycled plastics upto maximum reuse. For example in chennai we are using the recycled plastics mixed with bitumen used for road laying and especially it is done by ladies self help groups of a local area under the finance from tamilnadu government. Instead o dumpening the recycling or to reuse the maximum plastic filaments is the only way to make ecofree and opollution free.

Hi subathra... :)
I like your discussion on the recycling of waste. It's an environment problem currently. People keep on dumping things everyday. It's like a primary needs besides foods and shelter. :)
I can't imagine living in a place that's full of dump and garbage. We need people to clean it up. That's the reason I always respect the handyman and the people who clean the area around my place. Without them, we will live in a serious environment problem.
Let's start our day by remembering this : "There's always garbage and garbage everyday and there won't be enough people to clean it up. So why don't we start from ourselves?"
By the way, nice to respond to your discussion since I'm "Missing in Holiday" for quite a long time.
Hahahaha...
Take care..

the one big problem which india is facing nowbecause of this global warming is increasing and also causes for diseases....every one has to think about it and every indian should feel responsible and they have to contribute there efforts to make this country clean and green.they can do it by reducing the usage of plastic covers and by dumping the waste in garbage boxes ask there leaders whom they elected by there votes to do it and pressure them if they are not listening...instead of this we only cursing government is not ding the good things.it's not correct.

Honestly, I dont see what global warming has got to do with labourers spreading the waste out in the streets ?? Oh never mind, now heading back to the topic, about the seperation of wastes on the streets. Firstly, you cant blame the workers, its easy to talk about waste management and stuff, but you have to consider the actual source of the problem, the workers. They get paid a pittance, hardly anything and they have families to take care of. Secondly there does not exist muncipal filtering of garbage, rather everything is just dumped together, might as well have some people filter out all the recyclable materials and then get them reused saving the enviornment and doing our bit towards a better earth ! Finally, not all the workers who sort the garbage are municipal workers, rather majority are street kids who run around gathering plastics, glass bottles, cardboard and the likes so that they can make some extra money for their families. Its all a big cycle really, and to tackle this problem it makes no sense introducing new laws or setting up municipal recycling units and stuff, but to tackle poverty. Or another thing that could be done is increase the civil sense of the Indian people
Yes, dumping garbage on the roads is a problem that every India has confessed to. On a recent trip to Banglore, I saw two bins, once marked bio-degradable, and the other non bio-degradable, and guess what, nobody cared about which container was for what. They just dumped whatever they wanted anywhere even though it was clearly written what had to be dumped where, and in 5 languages mind you !! Now can you blame the corporation ? Or the people ?
