I have been researching several sites recently that allow individuals to beg for money online. I ran across these sites as a result of posting a page for our friends and family to contribute to the legal fund to bring my Granddaughter home. In the end I opened a myspace account and set her profile up there.
We have had very little success with our efforts and I am curious to learn how other people view sites such as ours. You may even view our site at www.myspace.com/yazzy2family and tell me what you think.
Thanks

I feel that if its for a good cause.....such as help paying medical bills, getting homeless off the streets, putting food in our stomachs or clothing on our children's backs, go for it. Its a good thing then. But, for those people begging just so they won't have to make their own way, its bad! But, just like anything, there will always be people that take advantage and use it negatively! I am interested to know where some of these sites are, I would love to view a few of them, and possibly give a donation. Also, good luck getting your grand daughter home!

The one website that caught my attention the most was www.fundable.org. It allows you to start a collection made up basically of your friends and family. We had several church members wishing to contribute and this was the best site that I found for that purpose. Another site is www.ChipIn.com
Thanks for the wishes for my Granddaughter.

I tried/am trying a form of cyberbegging and I have had absolutely no response at all. It was/is for a relatively good cause in my opinion. Here is the url: http://www.firstgiving.com/AimeeValle
If you did not visit, the purpose of the money is to participate in a volunteer opportunity to cover the cost of the stay. It turns out that I'm now going to be near the area for two months but I will have to be working, so I will still be unable to participate in this nonprpofit organization's volunteer program.
I remember seeing a personal site cyberbegging several years ago before I would have ever considered that type of thing. It was basically a woman who had come upon hard times, suffered from depression, etc., etc. and people were actually contributing to it.
I was apalled at the time but I guess as the saying says "if you don't ask for it, you won't get it", or something like that.

Today is the first I have heard of cyberbegging. I wonder if I should do that as I am the only one working and I have several bills that I need to pay off for my daughters care as we found out on Thanksgiving that she has chronic neurological Lyme Disease. I will check out your site and I hope that you can get your granddaughter home soon.
