Should U.S Citizens be able to buy cheaper imported foreign drugs?

Should U.S citizens be able to privately purchase cheaper imported foreign drugs so long as they have been FDA approved?
This would in my opinion lower the costs of health care and prescriptions that can run into hundreds a month for some people, and force the drug companies to be more competitive with their prices
