I have a beautiful pair of turquoise earrings and a matching pendant that Mike bought for me when we went to Mexico on a mission trip. He bought them at an open air-tourist market. They are one of my prized possessions. They didn't cost very much, but that is beside the point. I loved them because this little grandmotherly looking lady, hand set the stones for me in the sterling silver settings. It was a very sweet time, as my daughter and she conversed in spanish while she worked. Lauren was even able to witness to her a little. She was very interested in the gospel and promised to come to the little Baptist mission where we were holding bible school that week. Sure enough, later that night, she did come and brought 4 of her grand babies with her. I think of them all when I wear my jewelry. Do you have a special piece of jewelry that you cherish? What is the story behind yours?

I have my grandmother's diamond ring. I was 16 when she gave it to me (she had a couple drinks and gave my mom and I her 2 diamonds). When she woke up in the morning she asked about her rings. Mom told her that she gave them to us the night before. She said we should give them back or we would have nothing when she passed. 31 years later and I still wear it - it never comes off. The ring is almost 74 years old now.

So did you give it back to her that morning? that is such a funny story, and one that I'm sure you cherish in your heart. Is your grandmother still living? I have both of mine and wouldn't give anything in the world for the memories that I've been able to gather from them.
