Thanksgiving trip

We are going to be in Dallas the week of Thanksgiving. I've always wanted to go and see the Cowboys play the Friday after Thanksgiving. I hope that I will actually get to do that this year. We've never been in Dallas for this weekend. I thought the year we celebrated 15 that Mike was going to take me. He had this big elaborate surprise for me. It was a good trip, but it wasn't Dallas. Have you been to a professional football game? Who did you see? What is your favorite team? Do you have a favorite player? I was a huge Troy Aikman fan before he retired.

When my bro was in Lewisville, one of his clients was an assistant coach for the Cowboys. He had tickets to the games, and would take mom, sis & his daughter on Thanksgiving. The best year for me was when I went over to the dollar theater & saw Indian in the Cupboard, Pocihatus, and Babe. Ended the evening by hitting a resturant, pretty much had the theater & resturant to myself!

That is so cool. We lived in Lewisville for a year when my husband was stationed at the Naval Air Station in Ft. Worth. I love all three of those movies! My husband and I went to see Monsters, Inc. one year on Thanksgiving Day. We were the only adults in the movie theater without kids.

I've never been to a professions football game and honestly don't have a desire to see one - afraid I'm not a big sports fan and the ones such as auto and horse races I find it easier just to watch on TV in the comfort of my living room rather than fight the crowds.

LOL - it's not that I don't like football, there was a time I watched and attended many many games... I think it comes from when I was expecting my youngest son. The two older boys were in high school which ment I sat on the benches, huge, for 2 games each week (one varsity and one JV). Add to that wrestling, basketball, track and cross country - those two over-dosed me with sports.

I have three that have been involved in sports from the time they were big enough to play. My son actually got a waiver to play baseball early, because he wouldn't be 5 until August and wanted to play baseball so badly....

You sound like my mom...lol She loves baseball and the St. Louis Cardinals. I tried to get her to let me take her to a game for her 60th birthday, but she wasn't interested in it.

We already had our Thanksgiving, but we will probably watch the parade. I am not a sports fan, but my husband is. We did watch games on Tv, but I get confused seeing all those moves, and have no idea how they score. I do not have a favorite player, since I cannot make head or tales out of the game. I am more into baseball and figure skating.

I guess because I grew up in a neighborhood full of boys, that it was just natural for me to like sports. My kids all play some type of sports, and they like to watch it on tv as well. I grew up playing flag football with the boys in the neighborhood, It's kind of an interesting story that I may have to share sometime.!

Sounds like you are set to have an awesome Thanksgiving! I myself would love to go to a professional game, but the closest I have ever got was the Sun's vs. 76er's in Pheonix when I was in 4th Grade. lol I shall get there someday, but I am not holding my breath!

The only professional game I've been to has been baseball. My husband's job has one professional conference that meets in a major city every August. We always try to take in a game while we are there. We've seen the Braves, the Astros, the Angels, the Red Sox, the Brewers, The Mariners, the Blue Jays, The White Sox and the Indians. Not to mention all the Texas Rangers games I've been to over the years.
