I Hate Vanilla

If there is one flavor in this world that I hate, it has got to be vanilla. I do not like the taste or the scent. I do not like vanilla ice cream at all. I had some Vanilla Fields Perfume and the scent started to make me sick. I am okay with vanilla extract and vanilla wafers and sometimes I can eat vanilla cookies, but other than that, keep it away from me. Another one that I really do not like is cherry. I hate cherry cool-aid, I hate cherry candy(especially chocolate cherries), I do not even like the cherry fruit. What is your least favorite flavor?

Hi Rozie37! Oh, vanilla is just fine with me but what I really don't like are the kisse with cherries inside. I really don't like it, however it does not make me sick. I just don't like eating them. I guess, the cherry flavored candies are the least of my favorites. Take care and have a nice day.

You mean to tell me that the Hershey's Kisses have cherries inside of them now? I had not heard of them yet. But, they do not sound like something that I want to try.

I have to say I love the taste of vanilla (especially ice cream!) and it's definitely one of my favourite scents although I wasn't that keen on Vanilla Fields perfume either. It smelled a little "off" to me. The scent I really don't like is honeysuckle - too sickly sweet for me I'm afraid. As for flavour I would need to think about that. I've never come across anything sweet that I didn't like the taste of anyway lol!

I am a sweet freak also, but there are quite a few things that I do not enjoy. You are right, there is something a little off with the Vanilla Fields. It is just really hard to put your finger on it. I could not tell if it was the musk small or sometimes, it smelled kind of cheap. I had the lotion and the body wash too, so I had a harder time getting rid of it.

Vanilla Oil - Vanilla oil from The Body Shop
Oh I love the the flavour of vanilla and the scent, I think it is beautiful, in fact years ago I used to wear The Body Shop perfum called vanilla until someone asked me if I was wear vanilla essence and i thought maybe some people may think I am so cheap that I do wear vanilla essence so I stopped wearing it....

No it is very nice if you like the smell of vanilla but I guess people smell vanilla and think of essence, I since changed to their White Musk which is really beautiful and very popular...

So, what you are saying is that the Vanilla from The Body Shop smelled like another cheap fragrance? Did you check out the Vanilla Essence to see if it smelled the same? The reason that I ask this is because she could have smelled it and the only other vanilla scent she could relate it to was the cheap scent. If I like something, I will not change just because of one persons opinion

Now I'm like that with the taste of watermelon and grape candy. I like both of them as fruits, but not as flavors, you know? I also hate the smell of certain meats and vegetables cooking, especially cabbage. I won't eat cabbage at all. I also hate smelling and eating fish. Oh, and I don't like strawberry ANYTHING. How could I forget that? Ha ha. That's to me what vanilla is to you.:P

I love grape everythimg. But, I only like the watermelon fruit. I hate watermelon candy. Especially, the Jolly Ranchers. I can deal with strawberry a lot better than cherry. The only seafood that I will eat, hast to be breaded. I like red snapper and shrimp. I can eat a tuna salad sandwich. But, any other seafood, you can forget it.

My mom loves the scent of vanilla, all the lotions and body sprays she has, it's all vanilla. I don't know off the top of my head what scent I hate the most...I'll have to give that some though.

Oh dear, I hope I do not stand next to you in a queue! Most of the time I wear a vanilla based perfume. It attracted my partner and it is my favourite smell so it has been lucky for me. I agree with you about Vanilla Fields though. It is very "heavy" and I don't wear it in spite of my love of vanilla as it is totally overpowering. It must be awkward feeling nauseous at the smell of vanilla or cherry because they are used so commonly. Have you always disliked them or did the dislike cme about during a life change such as pregnancy? My sister in law adored chocolate until she was expecting my niece and after that it had the same effect on her as vanilla has on you, and she has never recovered her taste for chocolate.

I have never been pregnant. The smell of cherry is okay, I have never liked the taste of it though. I have never really like the taste or smell of vanilla.

We are on opposite sides of the cookie on this one. lol. I love vanilla but not so much cherry. I cannot handle strawberry. Chocolate, lemon and cinnamon are all great.

I love lemon, but I do not care much for the cinnamon taste at all. Like the cold cereal with cinnamon, yuck, I just don't like it. But, to each his or her own, I guess.

I feel the same way about pina colada. I even hate the car air fresheners that hang from the mirror. I cannot stand the taste or smell of anything associated with pina colada.

I have had pina colada drinks before and they are awfully sweet. If I am going to have a drink or whatever of that flavor, it hast to be ice cold. I am not familiar with the scent.

I love vanilla in some things. But you know when those vanilla scented candles first came out, I just couldn't get enough of them, I just loved them, but I am so over that and tired of it. I will say my least favorite flavor is probably the lime or lemon/lime mix.

I do not care much for lemon lime either. I never buy sodas containing those flavors.

Haha... You all are going to string me up for this, but my least favorite flavor is probably chocolate! I don't dislike chocolate, but when I have a choice, I'll almost always select something else. When I was younger and had Halloween candy, I would always eat the chocolate first so that my favorites (the hard candy) would last longer and I could enjoy them over a more extended period of time. I don't know... chocolate just always gave me that feeling in my mouth that you get when something's too rich. I like chocolate milk and chocolate milkshakes, but other than that, I am not a fan of anything chocolate or chocolate flavored, and never cound understand what the big deal about chocolate was. My dad says I take after him. He was always the only vanilla person growing up, and he also used to like cake better than ice cream (as did I). I guess you could say I inherited it. It's all about vanilla and fruit flavors for me!

I can understand what you mean about chocolate and that too rich taste. When I was little, my mother never gave my two sisters and I any chocolate. So, the first time I had chocolate, it was a donut and it was so nasty to me. My sisters didn't like it either. Our taste buds were not use to chocolate. It took a while for me to love most chocolates, but I am still not a fan of chocolate cake. When I eat it, it seems that I am eating something that is not edible.

You are right, vanilla is boring. Especially, vanilla ice cream. Like a piece of dry toast, it's edible, but you wish there was a little more to it. Like some more flavor.

I am surprised to know it. Because Vanilla is very widely used in food and it tastes good for me. Such as the ice cream, cake, the vanilla will make a better flavor.

I like Vanilla Extract added to my cooking, but for the regular flavor of ice cream, puding, cake, candy, and things like that. I do not care for it much at all.

I like real vanilla... both taste and scent (tho I don't eat vanilla ice cream often, unless I'm having something on it like strawberries or maple syrup (yep the real thing)) I really despise artificial vanilla scent and flavor... gross!
