I am currently reading a book regarding how to increase your wealth. I am amazed to found out that, according to author, being wealthy does not mean having a lot of money. But rather being free with debts and living a lifestyle you want. And the money should comes from your passive income or income from your investments.
Having many money doesn't guarantee your wealthy. Agree?

Hello izathewzia! Yes, literally speaking, if you have lots of money, then you are rich. You can buy anything you want. However, in terms of spiritual matter, in God's eyes, everyone is equal whether you are poor or a rich person here in this world.
Have a nice day and God speed!

I agree. Money is not the measurement of wealth when it comes to the eyes of our Creator.

Hi izathewzia! I agree with you that having much money doesn't mean you are truly wealthy. You may appear wealthy but if the accounting books will show, the book might not be balanced at all..there may be debts unpaid because of the high lifestyle one is trying to have without the means to really cover for those expenses. Just my thoughts my friend. Take care and have a nice day!

then i guess im rich??? ^__^;;
i dont have any debts, and some people actually owes me money, and i can go shopping every weekends (but not too extravagant shopping), i dont ask my mom for money anymore.. but i still live with my mom and i dont worry about electric bills or phone bills. am i still considered rich? ^__^;;
but i cant agree on this. because i think when you're rich, you can buy anything you want and you can go wherever you want to go. you can leave your work and still be able to live with just your money. ^__^;;

I think that being wealthy means having enough money to live comfortably and save up for retirement. Oh, and buy a house. I don't think that this has to come from passive income, although I do see how if you have so much money that the money just works for you, that would definitely be wealthy.

Got your point. If we retire and still living the lifestyle we chose even we no longer working, then, that's wealthy.

I think that it is the case, that you need lots of money to be considered wealthy or rich, but having thousands or millions of dollars will do you no good, if you have to work hard every day to keep on top, and if you spend all that money and are swimming in debt.
The point is to increase what money you have so that you can go on a trip around the World without worrying that you will be broke when you return.
It does not mean just having enough money to fulfill your needs. If you live in a $200,000 dollar home and are satisfied to go to Florida every winter, and you make $100,000 a year, you are not rich. You are just able to satisfy what you want. If you like in a million dollar home, go around the World every three months, can take a year off to do mission work in Africa, have investments of two million a year, you are wealthy.
IF you squander all your millions, or all your hundred thousands of dollars, even though you make either $100,000 or $1,000,000 a year, you will no longer be wealthy.

Agree. Wealth doesn't mean being rich. If you have more money, you will spend more and would wish for more. Living life without tension would mean true wealth.

Money is just a tool in reaching what we want most in our lives. But it is not the only way to be really rich.

Yes, I think I have read a book talking about this subject too, and I totally agree. I also want a life that is free of debt and having the money to support the lifestyle that I want. Having a lot of money does not instantly mean that you are wealthy. Unless this money is totally at your disposal and you do not owe anything to anyone, then that is the time that you can say that you are rich.

Yeah true. Just because one has a lot of money he cannot be said he is wealthy. In fact, it is proved that people who have a lot of money frequently become ill because of the increased tension. Psychologically it is difficult for them because they dont know whom to trust and reliability factor has so much of impact on them. Being rich is having sufficient money and leading a life that we want with no tension and fear.

I think being wealthy is if you are living the way you want to live in the way that makes you happy, it is nice to have enough money to let you have the things you in your world but I can't understand people who want and keep stressing themselves to get so much more than they will ever use.

Earlier I was about to write that yes...having loads of money means you are RICH..!!
But after reading your whole discussion I must say that I agree with you!!
It doesn't matter that you are rich only cause you have lots of money!!
The thing that matters is your freedom. That you are living your life the way you wanted it to be..!!
Living your own lifestyle and with FREEDOM..!!
I totaly agree with you.
We basically want freedom and luxury!! ....But people always forget this thing in the craziness of earning money!!
And they basically end up sacrificing there life...working on holidays also..!!
I really do not appriciate this ...one should never forget LIVING in between of the craziness of making money.
Nice discussiosn.
:)

Yes, money is not a guarantee for wealth. Many are rich but not wealthy. Wealth for me is equivalent to health and peace of mind and flexibility of time.

I do agree that wealthy man does not mean he has many money, it means he has happiness with family, career and health.
A rich man can have a lot of money without having happiness. It means this person is not totally rich since he is poor in happiness.
To be totally happy means to be free from sin and free from worries. To do this I believe, faith in God and trusting in His will be a great ticket towards richness. In this way a man can make a lot of money to free him from worries of debts, etc, and with balancing his time with family and friends and church can make the man free from sin. This is a great package of a wealthy man. Its not that easy I think.
I trust God that creating great relationships and making money for the benefit of majority can be a great help. In this way money can be a root of community and spiritual renewal. Although the bible stated that money is the root of all evil, as a Christian we can use money to support or sustain our faith. Money can be a medium for change!

Yes, I agree. Sometimes a person has lots of money or should I say cash in hand and cash in the bank, but still have lots of other obligations. This is true to the businessmen. they have lots of money but they have lots of debts too.
