Does anyone still sew, I don't mean quilting or craft.Imean dressmaking, making your own clothes. Or doesn't anypne have the time anymore? Or is it that there are such cheap things around now., I used to do alot as a teenager, but donn't have time any longer, even for craft type things.

Yes I do sew. I have made many dresses, skirts, blouses, aprons, jammies, housecoats, nighties and other items. I even attempted to make a pr of jeans for my hubby..but never got them finished. I had ripped apart a pair of his old jeans and used that to make my pattern off of. Now that I have 5 kids, and homeschool, I find a time of trying to sew especially with a baby.

Sometimes I find a hobby or if I have clothes that I don’t use anymore, I’ll make a new dress or something out of it. My pillow case is sewn by me; I cut my old clothes to form one. I don’t have a sewing machine so I just do it by hand, it’s kind of tiring but I’m having fun.

I actually took up sewing again this past summer after not doing it for about 9 yrs....Mind you since I'd sold my machine yrs ago I had to start off by hand but I bought myself a new machine for my bday in Sept and have been sewing up a storm ever since LOL I actually made myself a dress yesterday (I just need to hem it and put the zipper in this morning) and on Sunday I made a pair of pants (also need to put in the zipper and hem them plus make the bondage straps for them :-D)..... I am loving sewing actually but of course I'm also a stay at home mom who doesnt sleep much so I have the extra time to do this sort of thing :-D

I do sew! I love making dresses for my daughters, and my son loves him mommy made jammies. I don't like making stuff for myself, though, as I don't like to admit my measurements. Do what you can to squeeze some time out of your day to sit and sew. I know it can be tough. Good luck! :)

i know how to sew but i'm not a dressmaker who can make a dress by sewing since you need to have knowledge on how to make a pattern for the clothes you want to sew. i jst can fix some clothes or repair them by using my sewing machine. i want to learn dressmaking and i tried to a couple of months but i didn't finished the class since i need to move here in US. i think learning how to sew is useful i believe, so if we have to repair clothes we don't need to go to a dressmaker cause we can just fix it ourselves.
