Did you think that harpo productions did a good job with the t.v movie to be almost like the book?

I felt the movie was okay but it didn't do the book justice. The book had a lot of detailed regarding the lives of the male characters that weren't even mentioned in the film. The effect of slavery on the black man wasn't even an issue in the film, it solely focused on the female characters. In that sense it fell short for me. It probably isn't possible to put such detailed and explicit books to film without loosing something.

I agree. A lot of the time things are lost in movies that are present in the books. There are certain things that can be expressed through word that are hard to capture on screen and vice versa.
I haven't gotten a chance to see the movie. I read the book last week for school and I really liked it. I really want to see the movie now just to see what they did differently and if there's anything missing.

I did like the movie. I totally agree with you as they did do a good job making the movie like the movie. I readi it in high school and then bought it and read it again about a year or so ago. It is up there on my list of favorite books. Thanks for answering.
