Would you rather have a dog or a cat for pet? I would say neither! I never liked them. My brother has a dog, and my sister a cat! I hate them! rest assured though, no cruelty here. I hate it when my sister's cat cuddles! I hate it when I see dog fur on my shirt! I think i'd rather have a fish or a parrot. how bout you?

my brother loves his dog so much too! he brings it everywhere he goes. I guess I just never learned to like dogs because when i was like 5 years I was bitten by one! that's why I don't like them, I am even afraid of dogs!

I would completely go with a dog. I love dogs- they almost always want to play and even if they don't they'll still chill with you.
Cats, on the other hand, do what they want when they want. You never know what you're going to get.

Well growing up at home for 17 years my mom loved cats. She has always had at least 2. I think they are ok for pets but they are not my choice because they don't really do anything but eat and sleep. After I moved out on my own I ended up getting a pitbull for a few years then a rottweiler a year ago. I truly believe a dog is the best type of pet since you always have to interact with them where as cat is more independent and likes its space. Also I like the dogs for protection and a cat can't really protect you.

First of all I love all animals. However cats are my favorite. I saw a response where a MyLot stated that they preferred dogs because cats were not friendly. That may be true in some case but not all. My cats are very affectionate & friendly one you get to know them. They will be stand offish until they get to know you. I respect the fact that not everyone likes cat & dogs. Just aslong as there is no abuse involved. BTW cat fur doesn't bother me. The way I look at it; it comes with the territory. Just call me a crazy cat lady!

I prefer dogs because of two main reasons. First, they can be trained and disciplined. It's important that you train your dogs where to eat, sleep and take a pee and poo. Otherwise, you will find their litter all around. Second is dogs are more affectionate than cats because unlike cats, dogs aren't snobbish and they reciprocate whatever emotions you show to them. If you want to play with, they will also play with you. If you just want to watch tv or just sleep, your dog will watch and sleep with you. Of course the dog has to be trained, to understand everything you want him to do. =) I love dogs actually!

Dogs are much easier to train. Cat's are just tolerated.

I would rather have a dog then cat. Cats dont seem that friendly and thats why I would rather have a dog because well most dogs are very friendly and love to be petted unlike cats that run away from strangers and such. Plus I am very allergic to cats well im allergic to dogs to but there are certin types of dogs im not allergic to where as to cats im pretty much allergic to all cats.

Dogs all the way.. so loyal.. you will never receive unconditional love from anyone but your animals always love you .. even when your being miserable..
Cats are great too.. just a lot more self sufficient then dogs..
I think everyone should own pets when they are younger teaches tolerance, patience and love.. just my opinion.. plus I think its cruel to cage a bird.. they are meant to fly not sit on a stick all day..
