I always get emails from PetPlace.com, and this one included a wonderful poem about a dog's soul. I hope you all like it as much as I do. Enjoy! Hugs to everyone!
A Dogs Soul by Author Unknown
Every dog must have a soul
Somewhere deep inside
Where all his hurts and grievances
Are buried with his pride.
Where he decides the good and bad,
The wrong way from the right,
And where his judgement carefully
Is hidden from our sight.
A dog must have a secret place
Where every thought abides,
A sort of close acquaintance that
He trusts in and confides.
And when accused unjustly for
Himself, He cannot speak,
Rebuked, He finds within his soul
The comfort he must seek.
He'll love, tho'he is unloved,
And he'll serve tho'badly used,
And one kind word will wipe away
The times when he's abused.
Altho' his heart may break in two
His love will still be whole,
Because God gave to every dog
An understanding Soul!

Awww...I hope you find your Kenny hon. Right now I have 12 cats and two dogs. I used to have 21 cats until a nasty neighbor who didn't like cats decided to trap several of my babies and drop them off outside of town. But a couple of them made it back to some families down the street from me, and since they have good loving homes, I'm just letting them stay where they are. Twelve cats is definitely a handful as it is. LOL

That was really great. Thank-you so much for sharing it. My two beautiful Siberian Husky dogs were shot by my neighbor. He claimed he thought they were wolves, even though there are no wolves in lower Michigan. I still miss them they were the most lovable and loyal dogs I have ever owned.

What?? Was the guy blind, or just stupid? People like that just ruffle my feathers to no end! I'm so sorry hon. When I lived with my dad, one of the neighbors had an Alaskan Husky, and he was HUGE! But he was the biggest teddy bear on this earth. Both breeds are truly awesome. I just can't see how someone could hurt such lovely animals. Big hugs to you sweetie.

Hi Katlady,
A truer word has nver been spoken. Animals give us unconditional love and a lot of the time we abuse this love or ignore it. It's not fair on the animal is it?

No, it's definitely not fair to the animals. But they still give love no matter what. My Buddy (he's pitbull/yellow lab mix) was very much abused and had been trained to fight. He had gotten out and found us down the street from his home. He was so skinny that you could count every vertebrae in his back and see his ribs and all the angles of his bones. I took him home with me, before I knew who the owner was, got him his shots, got him neutered, and gave him lots of love, attention and food. He is now the biggest love in the world....except to strangers. He's my guard dog. But when he's on his leash, he's the happiest camper I've ever seen. It just goes to show what love and caring can do for them. Thanks so much hon.

Actually, not too long after I got Buddy, my friend that lives down the road from the guy told me that all of his dogs were removed from the guy's property. They were all in really bad shape. So someone must have called in on the guy. It could have been my veterinarian. I told him about the other dogs, and he just got this look on his face. It wouldn't surprise me. He has no tolerance for those kind of people.

That's terrible ,what they did to buddy. I'm glad thgat you got hold of him because i know he will now be loved. There's only one problem, what's stopping them doing the same thing to other poor dogs? I have seen over in the USA the animal law inforces, maybe someone needs to dobe them in.
Goodluck with Buddy and well done.

Yes, they are wonderful, aren't they? My Buddy practically knocks me over every time I go outside cuz he's so happy to see me. Between him doing that, and Snuggles loving on my legs, I'm gonna end up plastered to the sidewalk with two goofy dogs just loving me to pieces. LOL
