Which programming language is the current market highly demand for?

nowadays, learning a programming language no more a difficult way. I currently using vb.net, but i want to know currently which programming tools are most highly demand on the market?
Can anybody tell me on that?

Well, that depends on your field of interest.
For web applications, Java and PHP+MySQL is the best.
As for Windows applications, C++ rock.
For Linux, Python will be the best.
Can't say about Macs, never used 'em. Xp
And if you want fast, easy yet powerful, VB.net is good. Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 is the best one (expensive, yes, but really powerful).

oh, thanks for your info... actually i just finish my final year project with vb.net, but still have 1 assignment to go, now thinking using what language to develop...
this assignment is create a enterprise web application, so wonder you can give me any idea?
thinking to use webratio, although is not programming language, but it is easy to use... still remain 12 days to finish it

Web based languages are hot: javascript, php, ruby on rails
java is also useful
probably C++ too if you want to do real applications

Java is on high demand also because of its portability from different operating systems.

Think Java and .NET is pretty hot now. You can do a search on those job site to see what are the most common skills they required.

yeah, you are absolutely right my dear that todays programming is so easy, and the only tools or compiler i use Visual Studio. its really a cool and easy compiler...

I think it would be the Visual Basic .NEt which is highly in demand. Others are ASP.Net
You can say that the whole .NEt framework is the demand of market.
