How much is the price of rice in your country?

I come from China.In my country,rice is the leading food in people's dish.In common supermarket,we can buy rice in $0.2-$0.5 per pound.Yesterday one of my friend who are from USA told me that he buy rice in supermarket in $3 per 5 pound.I think the price is not cheap.How much is the price of rice in your country?

Well, here in our country, the currency is not in dollar. In the market, you can buy one kilo of rice for 16-30+ php (pesos) depending upon the quality of the rice. It is quite high, however. Have a nice day and God speed!

I think it is really expensive in your country.In philippines,rice is the most important food in your dish,most of peasants plant rice,why does the price so expensively?What food do you often to eat?

The measurement of rice in Kilograms and there are so many varieties from coarse to fine variety. Normal rice for cooking costs anywhere between 25 cents per kg to $1 per kg. I buy 0.50Cents per kilo which is a good variety.

in our country it is usually priced from P20-40 depending on the quality of rice.

Hi,djmarion,I don't know where you are from.Maybe you are from Asia.Because rice is the staple food in Asia.All Asian must depend on rice to live.So it should keep low price,or people,espicially poors,can't live up.

Hi Huying! I am from the Philippines and rice is our staple food. Rice here cost around $0.50-$1.00 depending on the quality of rice you are purchasing. Rice here is expensive even though we are an agricultural country due to many factors such as drought, typhoons and our country is also importing rice from other countries despite of the supply that we have.
