it seems to me that from what i have read and what i know that god doesnt show up like he use to in the bible, i know that 100's of years passed by in the bible between his appearances, but it is like he is no where to be seen , i have felt his spirit and read his word but often when i pray i cry out for him to reveal himself to me or maybe even send an angel to speak to me, nothing, where are the angels why do they not come and give messages to us? i really want to have this experience, i need this experience, but i will believe even if i dont.what do you all think?

YOU do mean a great deal to God. after all he sent his sone to die for you. He knows every hair on you head. Do remember Moses? he wanted to see God too. God only let him see his back side because his glory would have killed Moses and Moses had a job to do. God has many ways of communicating to us. The bible is one.

i think (not physically but spiritually) that technology and other forms of new discoveries have shut out peoples outlook on religion. with things like global warming becoming so prominent often question why its happening and if there is a god why is he/she letting it happen. i think that those who believe see his/her existence day in and day out. just a thought.

Hi wendyyuwie, (you got a yuwie account or something?), I do know 2 people who have seen angels. And have read about more that have also seen the other side. There is a reason not everyone sees into the spiritual world, I personally would like to, but only if it is G♥d's will.

Oh sorry wendy, I don't think you can change your name here, and as for seeing angels, I would love to see them too, I heard they are magnificent.. But G♥d's will, not mine..:)

Hello there. I have the same thoughts as you. I do believe in the existence of God even though He has yet to reveal himself. I believe it's because I am still not ready for His revelation. If one day, He were to really appear in front of me, I think I will be so overwhelmed that I'll just kneel down and wept.
However, I do hope He can guide me through this difficult time of my life. It's very easy to lose hope when one is going through tough times. I am constantly reminding myself that God is always there (though sometimes I feel otherwise) and to remain faithful.
God bless you.

You know it's funny you say that because I have really seen God recently but in my own life suppose. I was in New Orleans during hurricane Katrina. Our apt was on the second floor and we lived in the bywater, 9th ward, about two blocks form the miss river, when the wind and rain got really bad, of course the elec was already out and candles were burning, The wind pulledf over the big pecan tree in front of the building. It fell on our roof with a big crash and then then the roof started leaking and creaking you could tell the tree was about to come through the roof, well I climbed on bed, crossed my legs and closed my eyes and pictured Jesus picking up the tree under his right arm and dropping in the back yard of a neighbors house and believing with all of my heart that he would do it, and a few minutes later the tree picked up and went exactly where I willed it to.
That is God enough for me he appeared and performed a miracle. Jesus lives.

Lol I don't think God was throwing trees at me personally but it sure was a confirmation of my faith when I asked him to move it and he did.

personally i think God does not show himself to us in big groups as he used to in the context of what is written in the scriptures because as a whole society is sinful and most ignore his existance. Those who believe, believe whole heartedly even without actually seeing the face of God, they know he works in them in a positive way.
Even those who acknowledge his existance sometimes lose their way. When we judge those tho do not live a righteous life according to the scripture we lose the message of love. We can only try to help those people have a better understanding of who God really is. People tend to think that going to church is automatically gonna get you to heaven, this is simply not the case. When we use denomination/tradition as a way to say "we are the only true believers" this is just plainly wrong. We all must come to the Father through Jesus Christ and his teachings. I am sure other faiths have these inter-tradition issues as well but when you focus on that, and the ritual, you are losing the most important part.
I am not a learned scholar on scripture, I am a new Christ follower striving to grasp a taste of if you will of God's grace and mercy through Christ, and I am still learning, and struggling, but as one of my favortie songs by the band Third Day would go... I must go through the valley, to stand upon the mountain of God. Faith, dependence on the one who made us and the whole hearted willingness to learn from God and live HIS way, is what is good and right. We must get back to the origin's of his teachings and look at the deeper meanings of what Christ taught, for those are the true words and true heart of God.

that is probably the best way the response to this question could be phrased. i think when people look to hard and ask to many questions. i think if you want to have a belief then thats fine, asking too many questions will only confuse you and expecting will only make it worse. well said though dude.

Some time ago i was sent a story about a man that ask God to show him self and god did. he sent a butterfly. The man kept asking for things fromgod.I don't remember all of them but God kept answering the man's prayers but the man refused to see the answers. Finally a flood came and the man was sitting on the roof of his house He prayed to God to recue him. A boat came by but the man refused to get in so he drowned. Wwhen he got to heaven He ask God where he was when the man prayed. God told him that He sent him the butterfly and so on and so forth. Finely the man ask why God let him drown God ask the man why he didn't get in the boat he sent. My you are like this man. God is speaking to you but your not listening right. Something to think about

Nobody has ever seen God. God even forbade Moses to see him and he showed to Moses only his back for Moses would die if he sees him. He appeared to prophets in visions and in dreams, not actually face to face. Study the Holy Bible and if you have faith, you would know him.

God is all around u. He doesn't have to show his face for u to know that. Him waking u up each day should be enough..Also remember in the bible God said that no man shall see his face for if he does he will surely die. The only way anyone will see the face of God is to give up there body and be born again in spirit. Your angels come to you when u have faith and they speak to u when u are really listening. God is a jealous God and if u lose your faith in him he will lose his faith in u. Wendyyuwie continue to read your bible, pray, become content with God and then u will know without a doubt that he is there.

I Think he is afraid of the media nowadays. It would ask him such questions that he would be unable to answer and thus he is just moniyoring us from above the skies.
