What is consider as Spamming?

Hello, fellow mylotters. I want to sak something about spamming? Actually what action is categorized as spam? Well, I've been banned from one forum cause they consider me spamming. Is sending a person one message containing your links is spam? in my thought, spamming is if you send person some message over and over again even if they say they don't want it. Pls correct my thought. I never have any intention of spamming. I just don't really know the exact explanation of Spamming matter. Thanks.
