LIMEWIRE, Mp3 ROCKET, BiT TORRENT, & other P2P File Tranfer Software: A PIRACY?

Lately, a friend introduced to me a software called LIMEWIRE. This is a software where you can download songs, movies, softwares, documents and etc FREE! Take note FREE! You can get the lastest songs in here FREE! LAtest TV SItcoms FREE! LAtest PRograms FREE! Everything is FREE on there FILE TRANSFER SOFTWARES. I enjoyed it alot. BUt I get so guilty because another person I know had spent so much buying songs online through iTunes, Windows MEdia and other MEdia PLayers, yet here I am, getting the same songs with same quality for FREE. DOnt you think softwares are somehow part of the PIRACY ISSUE? and if it is, why is it there are alot of people sharing their files so others can download them? Why are there so many websites offers FREE downloads of these softwares? That makes me ponder!

Personally, I feel that the actors/actresses and singers all are really rich anyway, so they don't need anymore money lol. If it's any consolation, they still make lots of money despite all the free downloads.

i agree on that! besides, they only get royalties from the retailers. i don't think it would make that much of a difference.

well.. to be technical about it.. it IS an act of piracy. merely uploading someones work on the web is already an act of piracy since the web is such a public place.
.
a lot of websites support such softwares for one simple reason. its FREE! and if its free, more people would come to your site, check on those files you're hosting, and most probably, download those files. and guess what.. more visitors means more hits. and more hits means more money. simple as that.

people tend to share these files, well, because they are free. and since they are for free, people can use them all they want. and since you can get a hell lotta things from these free software, it more or less covers up the guilty feeling. c",)

First of all, id like to say that I love your dancing penguin. Is that mambule of happy feet? ehehhe .. Yeah, i do agree with you that out of all that we can get from these softwares, it more or less covers up the guity feeling! haha well, I am happy about it too since am enjoying what am getting from those softwares! LOL.. thanks to the WORLD WIDE WEB!
