There was another school shooting today at a school in Cleveland, Ohio. The shooter - a 14 year old boy who was angry about being suspended - apparently shot himself and is the only fatality so far. The details of this latest incident aren't the point of this discussion, the point I'd like to make is that something has to be done to stop this madness, our kids aren't safe when they go to school! Whenever something like this happens it turns into an argument about gun control with those for and against weighing in with what each side believes to be the "proof" they are right. I don't know what the answer is; do we need metal detectors and armed guards at every school entrance in the nation? We're already complaining about paying outrageously high school taxes, but what price do you set on your child's life? Come one, myLotters, what should be done to prevent more of these tragedies...or is there nothing we can do other than home-school our children or worry ourselves sick every day that they're in school?

I think the school should set safety as one of the main concern. They should do some checking I guess would help. And importantly to educate young students to avoid such acts. I think it is important for young kids to feel God in the midst of their lives. There should be a class, this class maybe once or twice a week.

Are you saying there should be a class that teaches something about God? Im sorry but not everyone is going to even think about listening or even going to that class...

My god, kids of this generation are learning strange things. they loose temper very easily and can do anything when they are angry. Anger is a state which causes blockage of the mind and an angry person never thinks before he does anything.
