Studies from the University of Texas and elsewhere show writing in a journal for 20 minutes a day could cut the numebr of times you are ill this winter 50% or more.Writing is calming, it immediately increase production of Immunoglobin A, which protects the body's muscous mebranes from infection. I think for a lot of us is mylot lie our journal, so a lot of us should we healthy, hah?So keep writing on Mylot.

As a therapist, I encourage my clients to use writing as it helps bring up into consciousness inner conflicts that tend to cause stress. It is especially good if a person has no-one else they feel they can talk to - writing it all down can lead to greater clarity of mind and awareness of problems.. :-)

Well, you could still train to be a therapist if you wanted to. It is interesting work. :-)

You are so right! Writing on myLot is lots more fun than a journal, too! Thank you for such an insightful contribution. I fully believe that the time taken out of our busy days to have a little fun here is healthy. I just hope myLot does not decide to start charging us for this health benefit instead of continuing to pay us.

yes its right. i have also seen else where that writing and concentrating while writing can be good for health. I have also experienced myself that it is a good stress buster. You can open up and vent your sorrows, anf=ger etc here by writing and this can ease you a lot.

WOW. Really? I blog a lot but not 20 mint a day its usually like 10 or 15. I do write in a real journal too. But this study is very interesting indeed and I shall keep it in mind as I blog or write this winter or therefore before and after.

You are right. I agree because as a student when I feel tired of reading then I go here in mylot to write anything that I want. Its a kind of release and I feel good about it. So, if I feel good about something then it is likely that this thing can boost my health in certain way!

Really incredible! I don't know if it can be true, but I hope so because I don't write only in myLot but also in other sites (in italian!). Till now I haven't seen any improvement in my health anyway...except for the fact that I really feel relaxed when I write.

I agree. I think that whenever you write down your thoughts about what's going on in your mind, it's a way of releasing pent up thoughts, fears, emotions, etc..
