For those of us who love animals and have pets, we all have a favorite or two or three throughout our lifetime. I'd love it if you would share with me a story about your favorite pet, no matter what kind of pet and if you have a picture of your pet please feel free to share it with me. I lost my beloved Missy a year and a half ago and have not yet replaced her. My daughter has been so sweet and thoughtful to let me "borrow" her Chloe (poodle) every so often. But I'm just not ready to get a new baby yet. Hope my picture of Missy comes in, she was the most loveable and loyal dog I ever had. I miss her soooo much. She adopted us and was the most starved and neglected baby I had ever seen when she arrived on my front doorstep, but we loved her soooo much and nursed her back to health and in return she gave us the most love. I will never ever forget her.

My favorite pet was a half cocker spaniel, half something else...he was my first puppy and I loved him dearly. He slept with me every night until my stepdad made me put him outside. some kids started being mean to him and threw stuff at him and made him mean towards kids, so we had to put him down for fear of him getting a hold of one of my brothers. he ended up biting my neighbors daughter. it just about killed me when we had to do that. It wasn't his fault that he was made to not like children. if people started throwing stuff at me i probably wouldn't like them either. but no pet i have had since him as been the way he was with me. i loved tht dog so much and after all these years i still think about him and love him dearly

Sometimes people just don't understand that animals have feelings like humans do. My father was like that as well. He treated our pets like live stock, they were expendable. I know that had to hurt to let him go!

yeah it was almost unbearable, but you have to do what you have to do sometimes or risk getting sued by someone who the dog bit, or God forbid it bit one of my kids. I just couldn't let that happen so i had to let him go

Your little Missy is a beautiful dog, and I'm sure you must still miss her dreadfuly; it is so sad losing a much loved pet. It will be hard to replace her.
My most favourite pet is the one I still have; she is a Lhasa Apso called Penny and she is 11 years old now. I also have an 8 year old Shih-Tzu called Poppy.
Last year Penny got really sick with Demodex mites; apparently all dogs have these mites, and their immune system kicks in to keep them under control, but for some unknown reason, Penny's immune system didn't kick in. She scratched so much that she lost all her fur (literally) and her body was red raw and bleeding. It took us 4 months to finally find a vet who diagnosed her problem, but we almost lost her. We had to bathe her twice a day with salt water to keep her body clean and stop the infection getting any worse, and she was so good and put up with it all. They put her on a medication that is only used on cattle and sheep; it was drastic, but it was the only thing they could suggest, and we had no other choice as she was dying. Within a week she started to improve, and after a couple of months her fur started growing back. She gradually got better, and is now healthy and happy again. All through this terrible time she let us do anything we had to do to her, and put up with all the prodding and poking from the vet, never showing a bad bone in her body even though she was in so much pain. She is my hero!

My favorites have been my mini schnauzers. I had one growing up and she was put to rest because of illness (her name was Missy too). I adopted Belle from the SPCA a few years ago and while visiting family she was hit by a car. I miss her terribly every day!! She was just like a child to me. After losing her my husband convinced me the best way to heal would be to get another one, so about 2 weeks later we got our little Hunter. He was about 4 months old and he's 2 2/2 now. He's so funny at times and such a strange little guy, but I love him dearly!!

Thats such a beautiful story. I'm sure missy will always be with you.
My dog Eddie is from the shelter. He's such a cool dog. He used to sleep on my bed and when anyone came in my room and came near me when I was asleep he would growl at them. He also sleeps on his back with his head on my arm. When I see him and pick him up for cuddles, he looks into my eyes as if he's saying to me
"I love you mummy!" My fiance and my parents think it's ridiculous but nothing can come between Eddie and me.

I love my two cats sooooo freakin much. They're so wonderful. They have the best cat personalities ever. Oreo, who's about 4 years old, is very sweet and loving, but shy and a little nervous (from when my brother's Rottweiler was around her and made her scared all the time). She likes to sit inside a box, i think so no one can sneak up on her from behind. She had chosen this one box and I didn't want my roommate to recycle it, so my best friend and I decorated it as a little house so he'd know not to get rid of it. We put on a roof with a smoking chimney and windows and big double doors on the front flaps. She has a little garden with a welcome mat that says "Meow (Welcome)". Now she looks even sweeter when she sits inside of it.
My other cat, Squinty, is the mischeivous one. She always wants to go where she isn't supposed to. I put my display knick knacky things on top of my bookshelf so she wouldn't be able to reach them and she just goes up and knocks em all down. She can climb the shelves like a ladder! No matter how I decorate she thinks it looks better some other way. Today she broke my curtain rod in the bedroom. I live in a basement apartment so that really is a problem because anyone who uses the parking lot can just look right in. Anyways, one time she was trying to eat the yogurt out of the bottom of an individual yogurt cup and when she lifted her head it was stuck to her face! It stayed there long enough for me to go into the next room, get my camera phone, go back, turn on the camera, and take a picture. I think she resents me having evidence of the incident.
Well, there's an introduction to my beloveds. Hope you enjoyed!

Over the years I have had 16 different pets and they were all favorites. At the moment Schazie (my avatar) has an edge over the other two as she is the oldest (4 years). I bought her because she was the ugliest of the litter and could not be shown because she has an overbite and buggy eyes. To me she is the most beautful baby. Definitely the alfa female, very bossy and keeps the other two in check. If I get a comment to this response I can post a photo of all three favorites.

Your Missy was so cute.
My favorite pet I've ever had is probably the terrier mix I have now. We got her shortly after we found I was pregnant. We had a lab mix, but I wanted a small dog that I could hold in my lap. So we went to the Humane Society and saw the cutest small black dog. She was in isolation because she had a slight cold (mostly it was just allergies, though. She was highly excited about everyone coming in and out so she would sneeze herself silly).
We brought our other dog in to meet her the next day, and they got along well, so now we have had Trixie since June 2005. She's the sweetest dog. She sleeps with us, under the covers. She gets along great with our toddler, and is always gentle. She listens well and is in tune with our moods.

Hi appls, I certainly can understand how you feel. I have recently lost my pretty boy Miko. He was my constant companion since we have had him. He has been a family friend for many years, we adopted him because his owner (a dear friend) could not keep him where she was moving to. So, we took him in to our home and hearts. He has been a source of joy and pure love. He cheered me up and kept me going when my husband left for deployment in June. He just knew I was broken hearted and stayed by my side, even during naps. He had diabetes, his left back leg went lame and he went blind from his cataracts. Everything happened so fast. For the short time he was with us, his impact is tremendous. He left us at the end of last month and he is sorely missed! I miss his loving face and his beautiful eyes and how he was such a scamp during dinner time, sneaking up to you trying to get a morsel! I too will never forget my Miko. He is always in my heart.

I can't say I've ever had a "favorite" animal for I love them all equally. But I can say this, each of them have a special place in my heart in which they'll stay for ever and ever. There is a tribute site in which you could pay a tribute to your beloved Missy if you want to. I put one up for a cat that I dearly loved but was hit by a car. Here's the link if you'd like to see it.

My favorite pet is dog. We actually have four right now. They are really sweet and very loyal of course. My work schedule is from 5 o'clock in the morning and I left the house around 4:15AM. I have to walk from our house to the waiting shed and they come with me every morning. Perhaps making sure that I'm alright =)

I love all my cats and dog. But i have this one little kittens that i really really love. She is so so small for her estimated age. She is so sweet, she sleeps beside me and wake up with me. She take her breakfast with me and play with me when i go home from work. She likes to try different things, inside the house when i am out my mother said she used to explore together with the other kittens. They run around and tag each other. i don't know if they have their own style of play. Sometimes she cry when she is hurt by the big cat, and when she is with me she used to show that bruises and look at me teary eyed. I just kiss and hug her just to show that i care for what happened to her. Actually she is with me now looking at me while I am typing her story. I wish she can understand english anyway. I love her, i call her "bunso" which means the youngest in english. I don't have a picture of her, but all i know this kitten is so special and a very nice gift from God.
