Is it common for wives to spend terribly even without the husbands knowledge ?

Most of the wives I know spend money so lavishly without the knowledge of their husbands.And then after things get out of hand , that's the time when they confessed that they really did it. Don't the wives realize that this is a great turn off for the husbands ?

The husband won't know about it only if the marriage isn't a good one. In a healthy marriage, a couple is close, there's communication, there's trust, and there's honesty. If the marriage is healthy and has all these things, then unwanted spending habits either won't happen or won't go unnoticed. If a wife is spending a lot of money without their husband's knowledge (or vice versa, it's a problem for both genders), then they need to take a close look at what's wrong with their relationship.

Talisman , that's a sound one!! i really appreciate your comment. But the one concern here is how in the world can a marriage be a good one where there is trust as you have mentioned. How can a healthy marriage transpire where there is a good communication and understanding ? It sounds greek to many!! But you are damn right !!

I think they do know its hard on a relationship when there spending habits get out of control but they still seem to do it. They put so much strain on their relationship that it eventually ends in divorce after an affair or god knows what else. Then when its all said and done the wonder what happened in their relationship and why it didn't work out.

Well im going to have to say that I dont spend recklessly here,and yes there are times that I buy things when my hubby isnt there ,but they are never anything big or expensive,they may just be small things ,maybe some face cream,or some such thing.But I wouldnt take advantage and just waste any hard earned money,no thats not my way at all.
