Portable Pitches?

Once more I would like to bring to this forum the aspect which many times plays heavily on the final result of the matches. It is agreeable that one has to play according to the conditions and the skills are there in using the conditions in your favour. Here one more thing...PITCH/ WICKET plays important role many a times. This another condition which is less connected with the skill testing part. If I am not wrong the first conuntry to use the portable pitches was NewZealand. The result of the experiment of portable pitches is not known. Secondly in a country like India where the venues of the matches are far apart the transportation of these pitches would not be easy. However, in smaller countries and can this experiment be continued? Will it serve the purpose of providing the same playing conditions to both the teams evenly. The recent example of the pitch behaviour is few minutes old...ODI match of Vadodara between India and Austrilia.
