I'm pretty sure almost everyone has heard about or watched the Video of Andrew Meyer - a college student who was arrested after asking John Kerry some questions.
Now.... I've watched about 4 different videos on the event and the best video actually has a footage of how while he was asking the question, the police woman asked him to get to his question, he yelled at her, he was obnoxious, he kept talking with no intention of hearing Kerry's answer, but instead he was just continuing on with this speech just to make a point.
I don't disagree with whatever his point may have been, but his conduct was seriously just unruly. Also, he starts out the question but sarcastically thanking Mr. Kerry for 'spending a lot of time talking'... he wanted to 'recommend a book to Kerry'.... 'Clinton was impeached for what? A b*** job?".....(isn't that ironic, i have to censor out the words because they violate myLot's terms of use) he was being a little obnoxious. BUT that doesn't excuse him being tasered.
He is a school prankster, he went overboard after refusing to leave, fighting with the officers when they attempted to escort him out, using profane language and yelling continuously. His whining reminded me of a drunk dude I saw getting arrested in a COPS video. Also, at the end of everything when he spoke to officers, he told the that it was okay and he knew they were just doing their jobs.
What else... the officers were actually just doing their jobs. The host of the event decided to cut the kid's mic off because he did have a limited amount of time, they did give him a little more time than the others and he wouldn't get to his point. This was a Kerry speaking event not Meyer. The host wanted the police officers to escort him off, and the kid just went crazy. Now, I don't blame him for going a little kookoo cuz he had a whole bunch of officers surrounding him cuz I would to...
For all you that are reading this, I myself don't know where I'm going. This situation is just a little bit confusing to me. I do believe that we have our rights of freedom of speech but we do have our limitations. This was under a school setting, he did violate the rules that were set by UF for this session. He was being disorderly and rude and they figured let's get this kid off the mic before something starts up and things just went downhill from there.
I still don't agree with the whole tasering thing. They should have just dragged the knuckle-head away instead or something, not taser him!The videos that have been shown on tv and stuff don't really get everytime. You just hear what's being said in the mic and just see the actions. So a lot of people have been anazlyzing the situation off of a small 3 minute video but I think you'd actually have to have been there and have heard everything that was being said to truly see what went on in there.
As for Kerry.... I don't even know what to say about him now. He never really had my vote and I don't think he's anywhere closer to having my vote at this current moment.... sigh...... I've said enough.
This discussion is open to anyone who wants to say anything..
I'm pretty sure there are a lot of people who might agree or disagree with me or just don't care... My points are somewhat valid, but please don't be mean to me because I don't even understand what occurred all that well so I could have stated sometime dumb while I was writing because I wasn't actually there.

It seems that Andrew Meyer wants to be an investigative reporter, and may have deliberately caused this scene and planned it in advance because he wanted some face time in front of the cameras.
I don't think the tasering was something he counted on though.
He became disruptive and unruly in a public setting in the middle of a crowded room.
The officers had a limited amount of options as he was resisting arrest and fighting them as they were trying to cuff him.
Dragging him out of the room would have been more apt to create problems and would have been more volatile than tasering him was.
Pepper spray was not an option because of the crowd, and thumping him with a night stick would have looked really bad.
There was no way to remove him that was not going to look bad to some one, and they took the best choice that they had.
The officers were left with no choice... Meyer had several choices and they were the wrong ones.
His actions dictated the choices of the officers, and he suffered the results of the choices that he made.
The officers restored order in the best possible way that they could.
