Hi! All In our city, when you buy a thing from a shop, we usually return the thing in the afternoon if the thing is something wrong. If you take it to the shop and ask to return it in the morning, the shopkeeper doesn't accept it even if the thing doesn't work. The shopkeeper mean it will bring bad luck if he accept it. So you'd better not get angry with the sopkeeper. In the afternoon, you return it, the shopkeeper must accept if the thing you bought is really something wrong. As we all know, "When in Rome, as the romans do."

Hello taskata10. Thank you so much for that little piece of an important information about Chinese business. I've made several transactions with Chinese and Koreans but I never had to return items to them. I appreciate your discussion because soon I would be going to Hongkong. I know there would be many Chinese sellers there. I wouldn't want to be a hassle in their business. In our country, there is a law about returning items. It should be within 7 days. Malls and stores are actually not allowed to post a sign that says "no return, no exchange". You can return or exchange items, however you have to have the receipt that was issued when you purchased the item. Without it, you cannot return the items. There are no beliefs though, in my country, that returning items would bring bad luck to the seller.

Hi! I am happy that it may be useful to you. You are right. if you buy something in a shop, you'd better get the receipt. Or they won't accept your return. For some goods, there is also a limit of seven days in our city. Wish you good luck!
