So I am at a complete loss at how to go about finding pinup and rockabilly type patterns...and truth be told I've so far not found exactly what I'm looking for...I'm wondering if it'd be easier to make my own pattern or maybe find a couple that are (combined) close to what I want to make and just combine..what would you recommend? Have you ever made your own patterns? Is it hard to do??

I have had the same problem. I have made several dresses by combining a few separate patterns and then slightly changing a piece to achieve the look I want. It isn't difficult to make your own patterns, especially if you have a pattern for something similar to what you want.

I've never made my own patterns... but I have combined some, like the others that have responded.
I'm one of those people that has to have a pattern in order to visualize what I'm making! I hate just following directions without pictures! lol!
