Always have to be covered up? Now that the colder weather is coming in my cat Molly loves to have a blanket on her when she is sleeping.LOL Why is this? Doesnt their fur keep them warm? My other cat Maggie hates to have a blanket on her. Does your pet like to be all covered up?LOL

Hi Terry,
Our shihtzu Katie doesn't like going under the covers. She is happy sleeping in her little dog bed and never tries to get on the bed with us.

Usually pets dislike blankets and cushions,so it is better to let them be on their own as their fur is enough to protect them against harsh weather conditions;but if the conditions are extrememly harsh then you can just spread a blanket or bedsheet naerby and you pet wold make himself comfortable.

The two dogs I have now don't do that much, although the bigger one likes to get under a cover when he turns in for the night. He also has a short coat, while the smaller has longer hair. But the dog I had before them, was always under something if he wasn't playing, eating, or walking around. When I'd get clothes out of the dryer (I was living with my parents then and had a dryer), he'd make a beeline for them and situate himself and sigh. I'd go ahead and fold them, but leave one warm one for him. LOL And then he'd get under a pillow on the couch, or a throw on the back of the chair. I worried he was cold, but he never got sick. It was cute. : )

Hi Terry, yes, some of cats do love it and some don't. The cats are just like humans, some feel more the cold weather than others :) It depends on how they get used to feel at their best. I am very quickly cold myself, and need warmth while my partner is the total opposite. My Chicha loves to cuttle herself in between the blankets, and this way she stays warm without being covered. The covering she hates really :)

Maybe a Luxury Dog House is the answer.. I know... I know... poor spot for a plug on my company. I will stop, going forward.

Yes, my two cats love to be covered up at night on my bed and there blanket...ME? They're smart those two..they came to realize long time ago, that if all three of us are in bed and snuggled up against my body we all keep each other warm...Of course it means I don't dare move to disturb them..heaven forbid!

Some of mine, do. My chihuahua, Katey, and my minipin-rat terrier mix, Mini, loves to cover up. Katey will get in under a couch cover, or wrap up in blankets, or whatever. Sometimes, she will curl up in my bedsheets, when I change them, and you'll just see her ears sticking out.

Yes.When she was little,my dog toutou wanted to sleep on the bed with us,but i got a bathroom mat and my daughter gave her a special blankie that was hers to her.Every night when we go to bed she runs in the room and waits for me to put her special bedtime mat down in front of the dresser.I unfold her blankie(shes waiting)and hang it in the air above the floor and then she comes. She runs to get on(having a shake before)lays and waits for me to cover her up with her blankie, haha.Just the ittle end of the nose is sticking out, hahaha.I love her to bits!:):)

I've never heard of a cat wanting a blanket but that's so cute!! I do have a chihuahua and he loves his blanket all the time regardless of the weather. Poor little guy gets to shaking when it's cold or even just a bit chilly so when we go out in the cold weather I have to put a sweater on him along with a blanket in the car. He's spoiled rotten but I wouldn't have it any other way.

I've got 2 cats and the older cat doesn't like to be covered up. Instead he prefers to lay on me. My younger cat (avatar pic) loves to sleep underneath the blankets and poke her wet/cold nose against my lower leg. I'm so glad that they're both comfortable!

I keep covers on my couches etc to avoid all the dog hair getting on them. Buster my beagle loves to be covered. he is constantly slipping his snout under sheets blankets etc trying to cover up. It's fun watching him wiggle that long snout till he gets the coverings just right for his comfort. HAHAHA!!

OMG, my cat hates that. Literaly, he even scratched me when I tried to cover him up-_-. BUt I think it has something to do with the pas. He had problems with going to veterinary so someone told my mum she should wrap him in towell. And he was so scared to go out of flat:/ So maybe that's the reason why...

My Chihuahua loves to be covered up. She gets cold very easily and with this being her first winter she's cold all the time. She likes to make a nest out of her blankets and take a nice warm nap. We also heat a hot water bottle for her for extra warming. She really likes that.

in extremely cold weather, we have to cover them also. their fur won't be enough to keep them warm.
