If you could do any job in the world, what job would you do?

Don't think about whether or not you are qualified for your dream job - just tell me what you'd like to do if you could. If I could have any job in the world I would be a writer - a very well paid writer. I'd like to write novels - best selling novels, of course. How about you - what's your dream job?

I would be a children's book author. Actually, I still want to be one and hope to one day.

I know you can do it, Anglewriter. I've seen your blogs. You just keep working at it.

I would travel the globe on whim and be paid hansomely for it. Similar to that lady on the travel channel that just travels and is filmed. (I wouldn't be filmed though)
That would be the ultimate job for me.

Ah! What a great dream job! I obviously do not dream big enough. Thanks for the idea. I am now going to go into the corner and start revising my dream. LOL!

I'd be a professional writer. Novels, short stories, articles, and everything in between. I'd make enough money that my hubby could quit his job and do whatever he wanted to do. I've always told him that if I ever made it big, I'd buy him a brand new Harley. He's holding me to it.

I'm a Navy brat. I think being a Naval officer would be great.

Ooh or have a successful e-Bay store!
Oh wait... flipping houses (and having the capitol to REALLY do it right and fun!). Yes. That one!

I've wanted to flip houses for years - since long before it became the "thing" to do. But I'm like you, I want to do it right, not just patch things up so they look good. I think you've got a great future as a writer, Mandakat. I've always loved everything you've ever written.

I'd like to write for a living too...I have some novels already, none published of course, but it would be nice to actually get paid for something you're GOOD at. (people tell me I am). I also would like to be a stay at home mommy.

I would love to write a novel - one that is funny and that will turn out to be a best-seller.

I would love to write. In fact, I dreamed of being line with Jeffrey Archer or Judith McNaught.
Yes, I would like to enjoy the fame and money of being a writer but I don't want writing to be my job because having it as a job will take away the fun. I would feel like I have to write something lest, I would not make any money. And that is not fun at all. That is stressful.
So I don't really know what I want for a job. Jobs just don't sound like something to dream about.

I know it's the way the question was framed, but all these 'would love to be' answers... Writing is one of the few occupations where you really can just 'choose to be' and become it.
I decided to be a professional writer a few years ago, chose to become a full-time one just over a year ago, and guess what?
In the entrpreneur/freelance world, you are what you say you are. Being successful at it isn't always quite so easy, but stick at it. Even if you keep your day job or have only a little time while the children are at school, say 'I am' instead of 'I wish I was', and you will be.
Good luck, all you talented writers out there.
