Tell me why homosexuality is wrong without useing the word "God"

I have found that most of the people who see homosexuality as unnatural and wrong, do so only because they interprit the bible to see being gay as a sin. However, I am not a christian. I do not believe the teachings of that religion to be the guiding factor in my life. So why should what you think YOUR Gods oppinion of my lifestyle have any bearing on how I live my life? I challenge all the people on mylot who preach about homosexuality as being a sin, to tell me why it is wrong, without bringing up religion. The point I will prove is that homosexuality is a natural human occurance, and that the only reason why people dont agree with it, is because their religion tells them not to. Is it unhealthy? Does it harm those involved? Does it harm anyone at all? Tell me why you dont like gay people, but dont use the words "God", "Bible", or "religion".

No one can honey, its their security blanket for why they feel its wrong. There is no other reason, other than they just "feel" its wrong. Im not saying I agree with it, but I truly feel to each his own with how they choose to live their life. I dont see it as natural between 2 men, but I do between 2 women. Thats just my feelings on it, and I dont feel this way because of God or the Bible or religion. I dont dislike anyone who is Gay, and I dont bash anyone who is Gay thats not my style. You live your life the way you would like to, it has nothing to do with me! Doesnt hurt me in anyway. Bay Lay Gray xx

Your response is very respectfull and I am taking it in the spirit that it was presented, and I truely do appreciate your opinion on the matter :) I am however curious as to why you see is unnatural between two men, but not between two woman. Dont worry I will not attack you for your views (I agree with you on"to each his own") but I am interested in what brings you to the conclusion that gender is the deciding factor on whats natural and what is not. Again, I promise not to attack your views, but this is this is the first time I have heard of such a claim. Im sure you arent the only one who feels that way, I just want to know the rational behind your thinking. Thank you so much for participating... Im sure we have alot to learn from each other and I am glad to see you have an open mind!

"If you want to be with a woman, then be with one, why be with a woman who acts and carries herself as a man?.... " I think my problem with this statement is that you are narrowing the idea of what a woman or a man is. *thinks* I am very feminine in some ways, and very masculine in others. I have been told I am "butch" but I have also been told I am "cute". I don't consider myself mentally or spiritually male or female so much, just a person. *shrugs* However, I am physically female, and aware of that. So I would say "I am a woman". So if a woman were with me, she would be with a woman, not with a "woman who acts like a man" or some such.

OMG Lecanis, I know you of all people didnt find offense to anything I just said. I said I dont understand it, I NEVER said it was wrong, and repeatedly said how I TRULY feel TO EACH HIS OWN, its not for me to to decide, I simply said I dont understand. How can you have a problem with what I said?

I am pro gay and I do consider myself to be Christian. That said, I don't know why. I do feel that they misinterpret scripture and they use the bible as a weapon. But I do need to use one word that you banned. "God". My God loves all his children. My God loves gays and straights and everyone in between. Perhaps he doesn't want his gay sons and daughters screwing around. This is because it is unhealhty. Like he didn't want the Isrealites eating pork and shellfish because it was unhealthy.

I felt the sudden need to remind you how much I love you, Cyntrow. =P Very well said here. I always love seeing your view in these types of discussions, because you're the type of Christian I respect. In fact, you're the type of Christian that reminds me I don't have to automatically be afraid of people just because they are Christian! =P

You are the kind of christian this world needs more of. The kind who loves the sinner but hates the sin :) I guess thats what I have in common with Christians. I love them, and I love the message of Jesus Christ. Its a beautiful religion, indeed. I just dont love how some... dare i say most... christians feel the need to look at me as a second class citizen because I do not agree with thier opinion on my life style because ultimatly, its no ones business but my own. The reason I posed this question is because in America there is a seperation of church and state. I am trying to prove that when you take religious views out of the equation, there is no logical reason why homosexuals relationships should not hold equal ground with heterosexual couples. Thank you so much for your thoughts. I would think your view of love an respect is deffinatly what Jesus Christ had in mind for his people :)

When something is created from someone - it will be questioned whether it is a good thing or bad thing to spread it today and what is to come. Homosexuality is tolerated and accept by people's own wisdom and their own knowledge - So yeah we see it on a daily basis and it doesn't bother us. There are two opposites - humanity and then The Spirit. Humanity didn't make the rule or say that homosexuality is wrong, but someone did and in history it goes back that God forbid homosexuality. So basically that's your answer - Humans don't say it's wrong - God did - bring your question to Him who said it's wrong and stop bothering people who didn't say it was wrong in the beginning. I understand your frustration - but argue it or babble your frustration who originally forbids it - God.

Actualy, God didn't say it was wrong. Gay men and women were made that way by God. It was man who said it was wrong and man continues to do so today.

That is Elshaddai's standard answer. I don't think that he/she would breathe unless he/she thinks that God told them to. I'm not trying to make fun. People like this scare me.

You are absolutely right. Without bringing God and The Bible into the equation homosexuality cannot be proved to be wrong. Nothing can. Everyone just do what you want. Don't worry about state or national laws either. The government is just trying to keep us down and under control. If I ever meet you I will beat you down with a stick and steal everything you have. Why is that wrong? Yes, you will be harmed, but so what? I will be better off.

That's such a crock, Drumman and I'm pretty sure you know it. To say that, is to say that all people who don't share your so-called Christian beliefs are bad people who would just assume kill you as wave to you. It's a crock. Many people of other faiths and no faith at all live good lives and treat others with respect and decency.

Laws. Society has laws in place, friend. I dont know what country you are from but in America there is supposedly a seperation of church and state. If you take religion out of the picture, who is to say that two consenting adults who want to share thier lives together shouldnt be allowed to? And before I hear you say that means anyone can do what they want there is a HUGE difference between two people in love living quiet peacfull lives, and a psycopath who goes around eating babies. Thats what laws are for.

Ok, look, I'm not saying if you are not a Christian then by default you must be an immoral, murduring, stealing, corrupt member of society. I am saying, however, that you could be and that would be okay. What would be wrong with it?

It is unhealthy especially if it is men we are talking about. There are diseases that are more easily spread such as aids through male homosexual contact not to mention it is just groos to think about. I know many gays having lived in New Orleans for many years and ultimately it is just one of many wrong things people do, I'm not perfect thats just not of the wrong things I do.

You should do some research on this subject. For years there was a perception that HIV is a "gay disease" and that is a very deadly assumption. Check your statistics. Like I said earlier the highest number of new HIV cases in this day and age is hetersexual african american females. And again, you will need more valid points than "its gross" to hold any credibility in this discussion.

Seahorse, I was just curious. Do you think you could give me a list of Do's and Dont's? I would really like to see this. Possibly Im doing something that is a dont in my life and by all means I would like for you to tell me that Im doing it. You did say, and I quote, "it is just one of many wrong things people do, I'm not perfect thats just not of the wrong things I do." So wheres this list? I was never presented with it, so PLEASE pass it on! Bay xx

I can't really tell you that it is because it isn't to me. How can love between 2 people- (everything else aside) be wrong? Love people- we need more of it in this world that is overrun by hate. Plain and simple- homophobia! Need I say more? Great pic by the way- how cute are you? Sigh..one less for the straight female population- :( Great discussion

Whether you use words like god or piano fart, homosexuality is not wrong. It is as natural as the sun coming up in the morning. I think it frightens a lot of people who have latent tendencies and they couch that fear by using god to hide behind. I don't consider myself a christian either, never did. I believe in a god and that god is within us all and that we owe each other kindness, and if not that, then at least the benefit of the doubt. Screw 'em, honey!! Gay or not, you're great. I hope you believe that. My heart and my very best wishes for you life.

Look again he said "unnatural and wrong". So I merely responded with my thoughts as to why it is unnatural. I think it's wrong because it's unnatural, and I find the thought of two men together disgusting. I also find the thought of two women together disgusting. But that's just me. Anyone else is certainly entitled to find the thought of those to be enchanting! Still never mentioned religion. In fact I agree with not wanting religion to be the deciding factor on people thoughts of this and many other things for that matter.

It's also quite natural in many places to just up and kill people for small disputes, to rape young women, to eat fellow humans. It is however quite natural to be heterosexual. There would be no f-ing human race otherwise. How could you possibly argue the nature of our bodies? Yeah sure there are always groups in every part of nature that goes against the natural tendencies, some less grand than others in deviance, but still there are always some that go against nature. It is not natural, if it was then guys would have the ability to get pregnant by *ssf*cking.
