Babysitting fees?

Ok, an aquaintance of mine just offered me a babysitting position. Her child is only 3 so the hours are 9 hours a day, 5 days a week. What I am having trouble with is the price to ask. She told me to make her an offer, so I told her I would think on it and let her know ASAP. For those hours, what would you be willing to pay or expect to be paid? hello candygurl24, im paying my registerd childminder £32 a day /( £160 a week) for 9 hour a day, and im bringing my son to her house at 7.30 in the morning and pick him up at 4.30, then when i get home. and i live in uk.

I get paid 30$ a day unless its under 7 or 8 hours, and in that case i get 20. It depends on if you are going to her house, or she's coming to your house, you know, make sure its worth your while :) I MISS YOU!

when I was babysitting and the state paid for it I was getting 6.00 per hour and I was only watching the childtren like 4 hours a day but now that I am not being paid by the state I consider the job your friend has and if she is making a good pay rate then charge her according to her pay good luck

prolly like 3 or 4 bucks an hour. babysitting dont pay much but it sure does add up in a week. lol. when my child was in a home daycare she was 6 weeks old and i was charged 3.50 an hour.

I was paying $60 a week for each of my kids when they were in daycare where we live now. When I lived in the city it was $75 a week. Daycares charge between $60-$125 a week around here.

day care is pricey and since its a personal thing you can base the price based on the kid not some set fee for everyone like a day care does.. if the kid is bad charge her top dollar.. 9 hours is plenty long so 40 bucks isnt a lot to ask for i dont think.. id take no less than 50 if the kid was a hassle though :D
