So this past weekend we picked up a costume for our son. He wanted to be Spider-Man this year! Well we came home and he's worn it everyday so far. And Halloween isn't for a few more weeks, so I make sure he takes it off when he eats and such. We got me some black nailpolish, red lipstick and some vampire fangs. Oh and a "Got Candy?" shirt. So there's my costume...not sure what I am, a vampire offering kids candy? YEA, that actually IS kinda scary! Ha! And my hubby wants to go back to the store and get this creepy mask he liked and skeleton hands to go with it...again, not really sure what it is he'll be, but it'll be creepy. He just wants to play too, understandable. We're not attending any parties or anything. We all kinda gather at my parents, and my dad, hubby and if my brother comes over like to take my son out. Mom and I pass out the candy to the trick-or-treaters. My questions for you guys tonight are: Do YOU dress up, just to take the kids out trick or treating? Or even to answer the door? Do you attend awesome Halloween parties every year? What is Halloween like for you?

haha my son did the same with his Spiderman costume and TMNT (Ninja Turtle) he couldnt decide which one to buy so who buys him both costumes? his dad! He has worn his spiderman outfit to the grocery store the other day LOL he got complemented left right and center - too cute! This will be our first year celebrating halloween and i am not sure whether to dress up for it either. We live in an apartment block and not sure if others celebrate halloween here - didn't seem like they did from when we arrived last year in the USA. I am going to talk to a few of the parents to see what they do and maybe we can join in with them.

ha! dad's seem to do those kind of things!! my hubby would have too if we had the money!! i like to get them costumes they WILL wear a lot though. it's so funny and makes them so happy, it's playing dress-up!! from my experiences, in apartment builgings, there isn't a lot of halloweening going on. when you're in a house, you turn on your porch light, then people know they can come to your door. if you're light is off, they won't come a knockin! so in apts you can't control lights like that, so unless you put a sign up on your door to "knock here" or "candy here" it doesn't happen usually. there are a lot of people who won't participate. especially if they have no kids! so unless you have a lot of kids in your complex, i bet nothing goes on...BUT i don't know, you live in a different state too! definitely check with the other mother's around you!! fantastic idea! a lot of times you can go to malls, or libraries and such and they have trick or treating, or you just go to your nearest neighborhood full of houses!! we just go over to my parents neighborhood.

GREAT thanks for those ideas - my son is so excited, they have a whacky day festival on the 31st where they all march around in their costumes and have classroom photos - not sure what else is done as its our first time but my son can't wait to dress up!
