Does Hans Christian Andersen have issues...???

I love Hans Christian Andersen's work very much. I came across this article I read about him that he has issue with his homosexuality. Is it really true?? I don't mind though, because he's still the best ever fairy tale writer for me.

I think it was more of a matter of the views on homosexuality in that time period. Given that it was widely unacceptable at the time, he probably had difficulties coming to terms with it.

haven't anything about this but from reading the origanal versions of some of his stories he definitly had issues with people - & possibly with woman. They're very misanthropic.
