Hi Dani27,
My favorite book series is Work and the Glory too!!! WOW!! Small world huh? Don't be afraid to write in the first person, especially in a children's book. I have written, and just submitted a children's book written in the first person, (fingers are crossed ..lol) and I've read several that were also written that way, and they were adorable!! Keep in touch with me okay? I'm anxious to know other aspiring writers and to share ideas.

Oh thanks so much. Well I have only read 4 of the Work and the Glories. After number 4 I got a little down because of Hauns Mill but I am reading Legand of the Lamp right now.(very cute, more for a teenager but really cute book) As well as working on my children's book idea and my story about my grandparents. Keep in touch.

Hi again...... Yes I agree the volume of The Work and the Glory on Haun's Mill was very depressing. But wow, what courage the early saints had huh? I want to go home as soon as our camping trip hits a snag..lol. The Lord sure knew what he was doing by NOT sending me back then. Keep in touch. (keep writing.)

I have a few favourite authors, quite a few. But I have found that sticking myself with only authors I know is a big mistake. There are some great books out there if you are willing to venture outside the box you have put yourself in. I don't mean "you" personally. I have done that myself and recently have read different authors and am enjoying the books.
I prefer general fiction, mysteries, women's fiction, humour. I don't like romance (as in Harlequin or Silhouette), or historical, or political/war stories. Nor am I into sci-fi or paranormal. I have read a couple of horror stories but if the books are large (like Stephen King's) I tend to avoid them.

I think that Interview with the Vampire was the best book I ever read. It was like reading poetry -- I could visualize everything in great & wonderful detail.

I have to many to mention but I have to say that recently my favorite author is Kelly Armstrong. She writes mostly supernatural type fiction stories and those are my favorite. I see you like romances! I heard the notebook was really good but haven't read it yet. I kinda like to get away from the rational world when I read.
