What is harder staying at home or working as a mom?

I have done both as a mom and I think they are 6's. It was so hard for me to work and leave my daughter and come home and still do all the cleaning, cooking motherly and wife duties. But at the same time when you are home you don't have time to do all those things cause you are being a mom. What do you think?

I have done both also. I worked for almost 13 years before I stayed home as full time mom/housewife. At first, I was thrilled of the idea staying at home and looking after my children. But after a while, I find working life is more interesting and exciting. Not that I dont like being a full time housewife but I find it very boring and stressful doing the same routine housekeeping.

I think it's generally unfair that working or at home, doing most of the household chores will still be the mothers job. I can count myself very lucky because we've turned it around - my husband has most of the householding as his responsibility, I take care of getting the income. And we've both raised the children, sharing that part alike.

I have also both been a stay at home mom, and a working mom. Right now, I am back in the category of working mom. It IS hard to get everything done, even if you are a stay at home mom, but it is just as hard to leave the kids and go to work. Especially in my case, my husband and I both drive a truck cross country for a living. We team-drive. We live in a small town and it is almost impossible to make a decent salary working locally. My mom watches the kids while we are gone on the truck working. It makes it even harder to leave them and go to work knowing you won't see them for several weeks. We keep in touch through internet, email, and phone calls, but it just isn't the same.
