I think i can give you the best answer in this thread because I am a 17 year old. Many people refer to it as senioritis, basically it is strange, we feel as though we've finished our duties and now is the time to relax. My attendance this year is horrible I average 10-15 class absences a week, and i am a senior so i don't even have a full day on my schedule. This year my mom isn't hassling me because even with my absences i am managing to get straight A's. Challenge your son to get good grades, tell him if he gets good grades you won't hassle him about ditching. Most likely he will attend class more often to try and get the grades and the problem will solve itself. If he doesn't get the grades then meet with his teachers and have them notify you daily if he does or does not attend class, most teachers dont mind writting up a quick e-mail. finally if he gets the good grades with ease you really do have to let up a little on him and keep your end of the bargain. But it is not much trouble for you because he is getting good grades and that is really what matters right?

Wow, my school has a policy that lets them reserve the right to take legal action against students with 26 or more absences. I have reached 102 since this school year has started and nothing has happened to me. I wish you the best in dealing with the legal system.

Hi there Ladybluet, i have a step daughter who turns 18 in March. She is going through some stuff at home with her mum and step father - i don't know all in all whats going on with her. She used to be so good at school and always one of the top students but i think she has just got bored going to school, she is trying to do her TEE now but doesn't know how she will go with it. And after that i think she will just move out of home and do her own thing. I have seen some of her webspace site and it just isn't like the girl i once knew saying and doing all sorts of crap, i have just made sure she knows she can come and talk to me at anytime she needs to.
