What's your strategy for getting exactly what you want from your relationship?

I dont really have a strategy for getting what I want. It is more of a compromise. I understand that there are things I may have to do that I dont particularly enjoy because my bf enjoys them immensely. That's part of being in a relationship in the first place.

This is a good topic for discussion. Unfortunately, I have no clue. Because if I did then maybe I wouldn't have been married twice and working on a third. And this third one is a doozy. The wedding has been post-poned, but we are still together trying to get some major quirks ironed out. So, when you find out the answer to this, please let me know. I'm anxious to know the answer to this. Maybe it will enlighten me and help me figure out what the HECK I'm doing wrong.
