nah, not really. but sometimes, when quality is at stake, i look for the branded ones. but what i am really concerned is the price. if i can forego quality, then price is my priority. :-)
but regarding clothes, i buy the cheapest ones that look presentable. hahaha

It depends upon the thing I am about the purchase as in when it comes to clothes I jusy buy what i think suits me. but in case of electronics I go for brand name. My experience till date is good so like to carry on in that fashion.

Yes.. a product's brand name greatly affects my choice. For me, the brand name matters a lot. I know the very fact that not all branded products have a good quality. But I just feel comfortable with the branded ones because of some previous related experience.

Of course the branded one.See ,if the quality and price matches then who would go for an unbranded option.Mostly branded goods come at a fairly high price tag and so we opt for unbranded cheaper items which has almost same quality and may last even as long as the former.
If I buy any apparel then unbranded is a priority cos fashion changes and you cant stick with one costume for long.So no point in buying costly apparel. But when it comes to buying any thing which has long term usage I may go for brands.

as for me i go for brand products because when u think at brand name products u think at quality (but not always brands have a good quality).
Another thing why i think companies sell their brand is because they have a lot of commercials.

It depends, some brand names I do like, some I do not like. With jeans, anything Lee or Levi's jeans is fine, with shoes, Dr. Sholls or Reebox, for shirts, anything goes. For my teeth, Colgate toothbrush and toothpaste because it's the best when it comes to my teeth. For my face ProActive, again same as for Colgate, but only it's for my face.

I don't think brand names affect whether I will buy something, but if two things are the same price and quality, then I might prefer the brand name, if it's something I've used before. it'd be more familiar.

Not part of my decisions.
I can see where you are coming from but in practice no two products are the same and I would look deeper to see a difference.
It used to be that the big 'name' producer had a better back up and wanted to protect their name but that seems to have gone away now and they are as bad as each other.

I find brand name very important when it comes to products used for skin, eating and clothing.
If you use just any kind of brand it can get you good skin prolems and then you will be taking rounds of some skin specialist for years!! And wasting money afterwards. So waste money afterwards of before...its the same thing. So better buy good brands before no matter if they cost high...!! Or to me better option is just don't buy it if you can't afford it!! I can't risk my skin for such simple creams.
Same with eatables.
but here what I mostly look for is cleanliness not brand. I can even eat in the road side conditioned if it is clean and hygine.
And with clothings as you will buy cheap products they are usaully very weak and are made with very cheap fabric and the stich is also not that durable..!!
So that cloth will soon get all rugged off and soon you will be needing a new one.
So its better to look for a good quality one which can last for years!!!
But again if you have a good eye you can always catch the good qualitties also that too in cheaper cost.
:)

Although I'm kind of reluctant to admit that, but yes, I'm quite unable to resist the temptation to be influced by the brand names, sometimes the commercials. Sometimes it's that I really like the products a certain producer sells and it's not bad to so because thoses things fit my personal taste. But there are times when I buy things just because they are promoted by my favorite singer... and I just bought my new laptop like that. The brand is said to be just soso, and the machine itself is just ok, but I just feel happy to buy it simply because it's related to the band I like the most. It sounds silly, but i'm pleased now my laptop dosen't let me down.

well it does and it dosnt. If I know that that particular brand is above the quality of the others than yes. If I know that the brand has good reputation as to guarante and all that than I would buy that brand. If all the products have the same price and features that I need in a product I would probably go for the brand name. But I would not pay more than its competitors.

Sometime it does, sometime it doesn't. Brand name products quality isn't always as good as their good name. When I decide to buy a product I usually make list of manufactures that produce the product I want to buy. Then I see product review from each manufacturer on the internet. What make me decide which brand that I choose is what people say about it. It's obvious that I will choose the one with more positive response or review from the buyer .

Hello cici6880.
Often, I would buy something that has a brand name. I associate brand names to something that is trusted and of good quality. I believe that it would not really become a famous brand name if not because of people who made it famous because they testified to its quality. However, if there is a competitor that is not as famous as the branded item but has reputation of being good in quality as well, I would go for that item. In purchasing, my qualifications are as follows, in the following order: Quality, and then the price. So if both items have the same quality, I'd check the price. In the end, that means going to the non-branded item because it passed my quality standards. :)

Depends on the product I'm buying. If its something I feel can't easily be ruined, like peanut butter, napkins, cereal, I just pick either one. The brand name and generic name will probably differ little and I won't be at a huge loss if I don't like the product.
For items I hold more importance to and will cost me a good chunk of change(computers, clothes, furniture) I would stick with a name brand. With a name brand, I would feel that my money is paying for quality. Also, in the event that something goes wrong with these items, I have a better chance of being able to get in contact with someone at the company who could help me. If my Sony laptop breaks because of a faluty motherboard, Sony will probably offer me a way to fix it. A generic laptop might not. Name brands have their names and good reputation to protect, so they will make sure to keep the consumer happy. Generics don't.
