If politicians die, are we supposed to have a holiday?

Few days ago, in Karnataka [India] , a former CM passed away who was 87 years.Should schools,college.... etc.. be declared holiday?? I never knew who he was but i enjoyed a holiday in his name. So pour in your views whether we should be given holidays or not for death of some former minister? is it necessary? is it worth it?
