Online Friends

Has anyone ever met someone in a chat room, developed a friendship and actually met that person?
Several years ago I was in a craft chat room. Began chatting with a lovely lady who was extremely friendly. After chatting on the computer, emailing each other, talking on the phone for an extended period of time, I flew to meet her. At first my husband wasn't excited about the potential meeting but I assured him it was fine. I did go meet her and her husband and had a terrific time. We are still friends and over a period of time, I flew to see her 6 different times.

I meet several of my frinds online and have developed really good relationships with them and many i did eventually meet with. I will admit that even though i felt like i new that person really well and we got together in a public place it was a little scary the first time. It has never turned out bad for me tho. Although i no longer meet people in chat rooms.

I've met four ladies who were on the Dodgers' forums and chat rooms. The four of us decided to meet at a Dogers game. That was about ten years ago. We had a great time, and we're still friends today. We chat, IM and email almost everyday. We try to get together once a month for lunch and we all volunteer at Eric Karros' golf tournament. They are my buddies.

When I was chatting, at first I was only doing it in a chatroom with people from my hometown. So it was really easy to met a lot of people. We were doing a lot of GT (get together) so I met a bunch of people like that. I met my first boyfriend from that chat room. After that I start chatting only with woman, from that chatroom I also went to a GT and met a lot of people.
