The area's Indian team needs to improve is definitely fielding that too out fielding ,the main reason behind 20twenty world cup win was fielding. But given the team composition like this it is very difficult to expect that standards but still a reasonable fielding will do a lot in wining matches and also their catching is being very poor through out the series. So, key to India's win will be fielding as catches win matches.

first of all the fielding..the players have to change their attitude towards the game..then the bowling ..the problem of the fifth bowler has always been something big for the indian team..and then batting,,,we do have the depth in the batting but wat happens most of the time is that our middle order fails to collapses whenever the openers fail..i mean there is no consistency in the middle order..sure we have the best tesm in the world with top class players..juss need to improve a little bit and we can find ourselves in the top

i think the best area where indian need to improve is runnig between the wickets. yes they run very less and depend on boundaries so when the fours and sixes are hard to come by they just get stuck where as when the asustralian polayesr dnt get muich runs by boundaries they just take singles and keep the run rate healthy and then they attacdk the weak bowlers and make the runs rate go wild with the hitters lke symonds and otrhers

The current team I believe has the right balance and plenty of potential. However lot of hard work has to be put in to make this a winning combination. Maybe having a right coach at the earliest could help a lot. Sreeshanth should be guided properly from becoming another Agarkar. He has potential however, he isnt channelizing it properly. There is no point in going over the top when the team wins and crucifying them to the worlds end when they lose. We have to be rational in our support to the team. Hope our team is able to find the missing pieces of the puzzle to make it a world class one in every sense.

Many would say that seniors should retire. But I wouldn't say that. Its never a wise decision to play without seniors.seniors means experience ,which is surely an unavoidable thing. And seniors like Sachin and Ganguly are playing very well when compared to all others in the team.Sachin was the top scorer for two games and has performed well, than young players. And we should respect the seniors because they are who gave india the reputation. Its the name SACHIN which comes first to one's mind when he hears indian cricket team. They have played for the last so many years and all of a sudden if they are blamed just for their age and seniority, its just foolishness. And genius players like sachin won't take birth so often, and we should be proud to be an indain as SACHIN is also an indian.

well i thnk it is not tht we lack talent, it is just that we r not in consistent form. we should understand that winning a game nicely is not enough, you have to perform in all games, and that can be done with discipline. although dhoni did few mistakes in the whole series in his captains role but ok, he is new to the job, so you should give him time. he is improving and will do so. he is in touch with the seniors and i liked the part of saurav comming to him and contributing and that is again a plus point from dhoni also that he is not just limited to his thoughts, he is encouraging the seniors
so its good but they just need to be consistent. i know winnign against australia is not easy, but they never played upto their potential. u give a nice fight and loose ok
it is accepted but to loose by big margins are not good./

Indian team needs improvement in every department be it the batting, bowling, fielding or even coaching as the pre-match planning too seems immature. There seems to be no Plan-B to fall back on once the Aussies made a kick start. Looks like Indian batsmen are going out to chase a big total without any serious planning for how to go about chasing such big totals against the best bowling attack in the world. The Bowling department looks even worse, not only Lack of Planning but Lack of Strategy also is visible with the Indian Bowlers. Even if the bowlers make a good start there seems to be no special plans for the in-form Aussie batsmen coming in the middle overs. So what really looks like is that Indian team needs a Coach urgently to do all the planning as M.S.Dhoni's planning is going haywire.

I think we need improvement in every area.As whenever,we improve one thing,we become worst in the other. And in cricket, there should all round performance of the team. When we bat good, our bowlers spoils everything. If both are fine, fielders spoils.:(

The major reason is the Sports Council and the managements. They have to work hard in providing future sports development and better social benefits future life planning to players.
I meant a grant of it and not the tongue speaking or mind speaking, a reality movements and effectively done.

1. We all will agree that we need good quality bowling alrounders. Those who are good bowlers but they can also bat.
2. Fielding of our team is not always as good as one could expect from a team which is challanging the world champions. That makes a lot of difference for our team.
3. Except few bastmen in our team many are weak in running between the wickets. Our opponents make our task more difficult by taking few extra runs with the help of their good running between the wickets. And on the other end we are not able to convert singles into twos and twos into threes.
4. Although Dhoni is not a bad captain, he lacks experience. So he makes mistakes right at the crucial points. He needs good support from his seniors and / or coach.

The main area of improverment that the Indian team required is change in their attitude. In my opinion I saw the sensible batting by Indian team in 6 match only. I feel their is lack of commitment in players. One win and they take every thing for granted. Unless and untill they will come out of this impression they will not be able to perform consistently.

india is a good team their batting is good but i m sorry for the fielding.if austrailya saves 20 runs of india -- india gives 20 runs to austrailya to make the scores over 300.
every indian player should think that the game is going to win on his performance.
it is often seen that only one or two players of indian team plays in odi turn by turn-- and not all of them show their equal contribution.
the last mach we won if you look in it all the indian players contributed well.it is not hard to ply 300 but india lack of team affort-- look at the symonds he is outstanding,he always hit 50s
when the runrate crossed the line of 12 then only dhoni and uthapa realised that they are too late and there the game was spoiled.it was important for indian players to play at the runrate between 5.5 to 6 so that they could chase it easily.indian team get confidence very fast and tenced very fast they have no control over their imotions.when they are goog they are the best and when they are bad they are the worst.hopeso austrailyan team dont win this series by 5-1,or it would be a veyr shameful defet after winning the t20 world cup
